"SCIENCE FOR ELEMENTARY CLASSES: CBSE WORKSHOP "

CBSE organised a workshop for teachers on Science for elementary classes  on September 30, 2023 by the renowned teacher  Facilitator and Science Resource Person, Mrs. Vandana Banga. It was attended by Ms. Monica Swaran and Mrs. Surya Laxmi.

To enable practical science teaching in resource-limited settings, the workshop focused on training teachers to become conversant with simple, low-budget resources in setting up science experiments, hence employing inexpensive materials to provide much-needed hands-on science education.

She further pointed out that Science education is an active process and should be “minds-on” and “hands-on” to invigorate students’ interest in studying their environment and develop  inquiry, problem solving and creativity skills.

The teachers under took simple but stimulating hands-on experiments on basic Science concepts including observing the germs in dirty water, observing the colour of sun through different layers of atmosphere using torch and newspaper, electrostatic force using PVC pipe and cold drink can and many more.

Mrs. Banga also trained the teachers to write a lesson plan with learning outcome using performance, condition and criteria.

Overall it was a  very informative and interactive session.

EXPLORING ANCIENT ARTEFACTS AND VILLAGE LIFE AT THE NATIONAL CRAFT MUSEUM, PRAGATIMAIDAN

On  30 September,2023  our enthusiastic students of class 7 embarked on an enriching journey back in time as they visited the Craft Museum located at PragatiMaidan. This educational excursion offered our young learners a unique opportunity to peep into the rich heritage and culture of ancient India.

The Craft Museum at PragatiMaidan serves as a treasure trove of ancient artefacts and exhibits that shed light on the diverse and vibrant heritage of our country. The visit began with our students stepping into a world of history and tradition, as they saw a variety of ancient artefacts and textiles from different regions of India. One of the highlights of the trip was the section dedicated to portraying the life of ancient villagers. Our students were transported back in time as they explored life-sized model and exhibits depicting the daily activities, traditions, and rituals of people from ancient Indian villages.

The visit to the Craft Museum, PragatiMaidan, was a memorable and educational experience for our students. It provided them with a unique opportunity to connect with their cultural roots and appreciate the artistic heritage of India.

We would like to express our gratitude to the museum staff for their warm hospitality and informative guidance during our visit. This trip was indeed a step towards fostering a love for art, culture, and history among our students.

VISIT TO KIDZANIA

CLASSES 4-6

The students of classes 4-6 of Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden were takento an interactive indoor theme park KidZania on 27^thSeptember 2023 togive a hands-on experience to the students about the real-life experiences of money management.

It’s a miniature city with paved roads, buildings, battery operated cars, with its own currency etc. The various activities in KidZania were designed to aid in physical and intellectual growth that contribute not only to the development of skills and attitudes but stimulate creative thinking and boost self-esteem and self-confidence of the children.

It was a complete amalgamation of reality with entertainment. Smiling faces, twinkling eyes and giggling laughterare the fond memories of the trip.

इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय कला केंद्र में आयोजित सांस्कृतिक समारोह

भारत सरकार के संस्कृति मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत 'इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय कला केंद्र' एवं 'हिंदुस्तानी भाषा अकादमी' के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में सांस्कृतिक समारोह का आयोजन किया गया। समारोह का शुभारंभ इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय कला केंद्र के निर्देशक एवं राजभाषा प्रभारी श्री अजीत कुमार तथा हिंदुस्तानी भाषा अकादमी के अध्यक्ष सुधाक पाठक ने दीप प्रज्वलित करके किया। इस समारोह में अर्वाचीन इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के विद्यार्थियों ने साइबर सेफ्टी पर आधारित नुक्कड नाटक तथा कवि दिनकर की ‘रश्मिरथी’से काव्य पाठ का शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। इस अवसर पर अतिथि के रूप में जेल सुधारक एवं मीडिया शिक्षक डॉ. वर्तिका नंदा, डॉ. जीतराम भट्ट एवं सुधीर लाल, प्रभारी, कलानिधि ने अपनी गरिमामय उपस्थिति दर्ज की। हिन्दुस्तानी भाषा अकादमी द्वारा अर्वाचीन नुक्कड़ नाटक मंडली को ट्रॉफी, प्रमाणपत्र, मेडल तथा 5100 की पुरस्कार राशि तथा काव्य पाठ के लिए अंशुल शर्मा को ट्रॉफी तथा 1100 की पुरस्कार राशि से सम्मानित किया गया।विद्यार्थियों के इस शानदार प्रदर्शन के लिए उनकी हिंदी अध्यापिका डॉ. अनीता पंडित को भी हिंदुस्तानी भाषा अकादमी द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया।

HAPPINESS IS THE FIRST PICNIC OF THE YEAR………..

 The Pre-Primary wing of Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, went for the most awaited day of the year. They had their annual picnic at Fun Melon on 27^th September 2023. The children had a gala day. The situate of the place was very welcoming for our young ones. There were different swings and explorations to strive and try their grips and grasp. The children enjoyed the slides and fun activities, which included net climbing, a ball pool, and building a house. Thereafter, the children were served with the lunch. They enjoyed and relished the same.  All the students expressed their desire to visit the place again. Indeed, it was a great day for all the students and the teachers strengthening their bond. It was an amazing experience for the tiny tots. The day was well spent.

FRENCH INTERNATIONAL EXAM

French International Exam was organised at Arwachin International School in collaboration with Prayatna Education Society. In accordance with our commitment to provide students with a comprehensive and globally-oriented education, this exam aimed to assess students’ proficiency in the French language and their understanding of French culture.

All the students participated with great enthusiasm. They recited the rhymes with correct intonation and pronunciation. It was a proud moment for the school when all the participants recited beautifully and eloquently. The judges for the competition were- Ms.Natasha Sharma, Ms. Aditi Sharma  and Ms. Jhanvi. Arwachin International School takes care of its staff which in turn is fruitful for them to keep a check on their health.

On 15 September, 2023, a medical health check up was conducted for the staff of Arwachin International School that targeted anaemia. A haemoglobin test was performed by the doctors which created a sense of awareness about the causes of anaemia among the staff members. They speculated their eating habits and their lifestyle and contemplated on what needs to be done in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Such efforts of the school aimat building a healthy team that would give its best to the students.

"BRINGING CREATIVITY TO LIFE: CBSE WORKSHOP ON ART INTEGRATION"

Arwachin International School organized a CBSE workshop on Art Integration for the teachers on September 14, 2023 by the renowned CBSE trainer and accomplished curriculum developer, Dr. Nishi Phogat.

The session provided innovative ways to adopt interdisciplinary approach to seamlessly blend art with other subjects. It was an enlightening day filled with exciting possibilities for teachers to disseminate the learning experience with the students in the classroom.

In conclusion, the Art Integration Training equipped educators with powerful tools to seamlessly blend art with other subjects. For instance, we learned how to use art to explore scientific concepts, infuse history with creative storytelling, or teach mathematics through geometric art. This approach promises to paint a brighter, more colorful future in education by creating a more engaging and enriching learning experience.

CBP SESSION BY CBSE ON LEARNING OUTCOMES AND PEDAGOGIES

A CBSE workshop on Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies was hosted at Arwachin International School on 12 September, 2023. The workshop was attended by sixty teachers. The workshop was conducted in two sessions.

The resource person, Dr. Veena Mishra, Principal of National Victor Public School, Patpatgang, highlighted the difference between learning objectives and learning outcomes. She conducted various activities to make the teachers understand the importance of planning in the teaching and learning process.

The resource person, Dr Sandeep Kumar emphasized upon using different strategies to achieve the goals set by the teachers through various examples from our daily life. The teachers learnt the importance of Blooms Taxonomy and its implementation in lesson planning and framing question papers. The session was highly interactive and informative.

The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Mrs Dimple Puri.

REPORT ON ART AND CRAFT CLUB ACTIVITY

The Art & Craft club students of classes 6 to 8 participated in a traditional art of Mehndi. This aimed to introduce them to the intricate technique and designs of mehndi application. The students gained valuable insights of the age old practice and developed deeper appreciation of the Indian culture.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress is a human reaction to a situation faced by humans that urges them to make tough decisions or put them out of their comfort zone.It may also shed light on the individual’s inability to cope with the demands occurring by his decisions.

On 10 August 2023 Mrs. Radha Sharma andMrs. Sangita Sharma attended the Stress Management workshop at COE East Delhi by the resource person Mr. Pankaj. He emphasised upon the fact that stress is not the natural tendency of a body, that’s why it cannot be a driving force. This workshop was certainly an eye-opener and busted many myths that no one even bothered to think about. It was a great experience and the attendees explored a lot about themselves. They not only learnt about the factors that lead us to stress but the coping mechanism also.

By the end of the session all the participants were contended and many of them shared the difference they could sense in their thought processes before and after the programme. Mr. Pankaj was a great resource person who made the topic very lively by real life examples and situations.

 We are proud to share that Arnav Jain of 7A, Alisha Sharma of 8B, Sanyam Arora of 9A, along with their mentor teacher, Mrs. Pooja Mallick had the privilege of showcasing their AI project on Computational thinking  and Coding and engaging in a meaningful and heartfelt conversation with the British Prime Minister, Mr. Sunak and his wife, Mrs. Akshata Murty during their official visit to the British Council, Delhi, on 8 September 2023.
The couple demonstrated great interest in the project prepared by the Arwachinians and even interacted with them.

This unforgettable and once in a lifetime experience will definitely inspire all our students to reach new heights in their educational journey.

WORKSHOP ON COMPUTATIONAL THINKING THROUGH CODING

British Council ,partnered with Micro:bit Educational Foundation, UK, had organized a 3-day training programme from 4-6 September 2023  It was conducted for  a few CBSE and KV Schools in Delhi to help young people learn computational thinking through coding that will help them in their future education and careers.

Mrs. Pooja Mallick along with three students  Arnav  Jain of 7A,Alisha Sharma of 8B, Sanyam Arora of 9A got the opportunity to  attend the workshop and learn about the Micro:Bit. Micro:bit is a tiny circuit board designed to help learners learn to code and create with technology.The students learnt the use of  technology effectively and efficientlyand designed“GETFIT” wristband as a part of the project, which was appreciated by everyone.

The students also got the privilege of showcasing their AI project and engaging in a meaningful and heartfelt conversation with the British Prime Minister, Mr. Sunak and his wife, Mrs. Akshata Murty, during their official visit to the British Council, Delhi, on 8 September 2023.

The workshop provided an enriching experience to the students and their mentor teacher.

 

TEACHER’S EXCELLENCE AWARD

Arwachin International School felicitated their teaching and non teaching staff on the joyous occasion of Teacher’s Day on 5^th September 2023.  A grand celebration was organised by the school to honour their hard working and dedicated   staff.  The teachers were felicitated by the revered Chairman Mr. Arun Sharma, honourable Directors Mrs. Ayushi Sharma and Mr. Akshat Sharma and respected Principal Mrs. Dimple Puri. More than fifty percent of the staff was appreciated. 43 teachers and 9 members of non-teaching staff were felicitated for completing more than ten years of services in the institution. Moreover, 8 teachers were felicitated for their students scoring perfect 100 in their subjects in CBSEclassX and XII board examinations 2022-23. The teachers were overwhelmed with joy on such a great recognition by the school.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS 23-24

 “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart”

Arwachin International School celebrated the joyous occasion of Teacher’s Day on September 5 & 6 with great pomp and show to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and to thank the teachers for all that they do for their students. On September 5, a short felicitation function was organised to honour the teachers for their hard work and dedication towards their students and the institution. Teachers were appreciated for their students scoring perfect 100 in their subjects in board exams. All the teachers were awarded with a memento for their exemplary services. They were also treated with delicious food followed by a movie at EDM  mall.

On 6 September, the students of Class- XII organised the programme with great enthusiasm and zeal. The programme was conducted in three parts: classes Pre-primary to 3, classes 4 to 7 and classes 8 to 12. The occasion was graced by the presence of our honourable Chairman Mr.Arun Sharma, Directors Mrs.Ayushi Sharma, Mr.Akshat Sharma and respected Principal Mrs. Dimple Puri.

The day began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the felicitation ceremony ‘Guru Vandan Chhatra Abhinandan’, of the teachers and the students by Bharat Vikas Parishad, North East Zone. Next, the audience witnessed the enthralling performances of the students on stage exclusively for the teachers. The Arwachinians exhibited their talents as a treat to the teachers. Many programmes such as dance, music, poem recitation, skits etc. dedicated to the teachers were presented by the students. The students also presented exquisite handmade key chains to the teachers

The day ended with an encouraging and motivational speech by the honourable Director Mr. Sharma. Our respected Principal Mrs.Dimple Puri applauded the efforts of the students and thanked each and every member of the Arwachin family for organising the event beautifully.

 

CHANDRAYAAN-3 MISSION IN SPACE CLUB

Chandrayaan-3 is a gigantic success for India. To commemorate its triumph and its soft landing on the moon, the space club teachers, Ms. Swaran and Mrs. Goswami, shared the whole event of the launching to the landing of Chandrayaan-3 with their students in the Space club on 04 September 2023. They were also oriented about Chandrayaan-2.

The Academic coordinator, Mrs. Priya Grover, attended the session. She appreciated the efforts of the teachers  and encouraged the students to know more about the universe. She told the students that in the vast space of our universe where Mythology and Science come together so often, Chandrayan-3 shines brightly as a symbol of India’s astral hope and exploration.

It was a great experience for all the students . They learnt many facts about this mission. The whole session was extremely informative and engaging.

ARWACHIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL 

EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO INDIA GATE

Date: 1st September, 2023

Arwachin International School organized an educational trip to India Gate on 1st September, 2023 for Classes 1 and 2. This trip provided students with a chance to witness and learn about India Gate.

During the visit, students were captivated by India Gate's grandeur, and teachers briefed them about its historical significance. The trip sparked curiosity among students, who actively engaged with the experience.

It was an enriching experience that combined enjoyment with learning, deepening students' knowledge about this iconic monument.
