RAKSHABANDHAN REPORT

"Rakshabandhan celebration brings with it a lot of zeal, enthusiasm and excitement every year".

The Tiny tots of Arwachin International School celebrated Rakshabandhan on 29th August 2023 with full enthusiasm. The main objective behind celebrating ‘Rakshabandhan’ was making the children aware about the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. The festival was celebrated with excitement where girls tied Rakhi on the wrist of boys and the boys gave gifts in return. This was followed by rakhi making activity where children were encouraged and helped to make rakhi.

It was a great experience and children learnt more about the pious bond of rakhi and expressed their love for their siblings and family.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM ON SCHOOL HEALTH AND WELLNESS

A two day capacity building program was organized at the Centre of Excellence, CBSE, East Delhi on 21st and 22nd August, 2023 by the resource persons, Mrs. Veena Mishra, the Principal and Mrs. Chaya Gupta, School Counselor of National Victor Public School. The school counselor, Mrs. Aafreen Sarfaraz of Arwachin International School had the privilege of attending this workshop.

World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity. Well-being is a combination of physical, mental, emotional and social health factors and is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. While health is an important goal for all age groups, investments in the health and well-being of children and adolescents are particularly cost effective and yield multiple benefits. If India has to achieve the sustainable development goal of good health and well-being for everyone at all ages, the unique needs of this substantive proportion of the population cannot be ignored. The major essence conveyed by this capacity building program was making each participant of the workshop realize about how health and well-being are universal pursuits at individual, community, national and global levels.

The workshop covered a wide range of themes, from growing up healthy to emotional well-being and mental health, interpersonal relationships, gender equality, value and citizenship, nutrition, health and sanitation, prevention and management of substance abuse, promotion of healthy lifestyle, reproductive health and POCSO.

During the two day course, the resource persons systematically discussed and analysed each theme in detail. The two erudite speakers used case studies, experience, role play and self-reflective questions, charts, photographs, videos, games, etc. to provide accurate and adequate information and inculcate a positive attitude.

By the end of the session, the participants learnt that by prioritizing physical health and mental well-being, we can create a positive and supportive environment that fosters the holistic growth of their students.

Overall, the workshop was extremely interactive, informative and interesting.
