STORY TELLING SESSION

“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.” –Robert McKee

A Story Telling Session was organised by Arwachin International School on 29th December, 2023 by the support of ETPA Foundation, a non - profit company.

The session was conducted by Mr. Vinit Choubey, Project Manager and Ms. Sangeeta Yadav, Project Coordinator of ETPA Foundation. The topic of the story was “4R- Respect, Reduce, Recycle and Reuse”. The picture book of “Mottainai Grandma” was read which explains the act of handling things with care by spreading the spirit of Mottainai. Mottainai (もったいない) is a Japanese expression which is used when people express regret and when something that can still be used is not or is thrown away or wasted.

The programme started with a Q&A session of basic questions related to the environment followed by the story. The session concluded with an informative video about the water cycle. 

It was quite an informative and a wonderful session.

    NATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

    NATIONAL  KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

    National Karate Championship was held on 28th and 29th December 2023 in Talkatora Indoor stadium, New Delhi. This event was organized by National Karate Federation associated with Physical education Foundation of India under the supervision of Sensei Manoj. Mr. Suman Talwar(South Indian Actor), Mr. Satish Uppadhyay(BJP leader), Dr. Piyush Jain (Director of PEFI) were the guests of the programme. Around seven hundred students from twenty two states participated in the same. There are three formats of Karate competition;Traditional Karate, Full Contact Karate and Sports Karate.Twenty Six  students from Arwachin International School participated in the competition. Events like; Kihon Kumite, Individual Kumite, Individual Kata and Team Kata competition  were classified according to the age group of the participants. The referees were Sensei Jitesh , Sensei  Ishwar Thapa , Sensei  Narendra, Sensei Yograj, Sensei Soumen , Sensei Nemai and Sensei Priyanka.

     Arwachininans bagged 9 medals with 3 Silver and 6 Bronze in number.

      Under the dynamic guidance of their team coach and esteemed Physical Education Teacher, Mr Dinesh Chand Papnay, the young athletes showcased skill, determination, and teamwork, leaving an indelible mark in the annals of Arwachin sports history.

      The Principal of Arwachin International School, Mrs Dimple Puri and the Director, Mrs Ayushi Sharma, extend heartfelt congratulations to the Tug of War team of AIS for its stellar performance.         On 28 December 2023, an educational trip was organised for class 6 of Arwachin International School to the Crafts Museum and Hastkala Academy, Pragati Maidan.

        It was an enthralling experience for the young minds as they witnessed history being brought to life. The tastefully arranged Crafts Museum offered an interesting insight into Indian crafts and rural arts and traditions.

        The museum had demonstrations of traditional embroidery, weaving, carving, and pottery. The students witnessed the beauty of diversity of India, and they were immensely proud of the culture, heritage, and art of the country.

          EXPLORING NATURE'S WONDERS: A DAY TRIP TO NAJAFGARH ECO ADVENTURE CAMP

          An adventurous day trip was organised by Arwachin International School to Najafgarh Eco Adventure Park for students from class 7-12 on 27 and 28 December 2023. The purpose of this trip was to provide students with a unique opportunity to connect with nature, engage in outdoor activities, and improve team spirit.

          The day began with an early morning departure from the school. Upon reaching Najafgarh Eco Adventure Park, the students were greeted by the Eco Camp staff who conducted a brief orientation session. This session highlighted the importance of adhering to the rules and developing a belonging to the team that they had been assigned to.

          To foster teamwork and enhance physical fitness, the students participated in a series of adventure activities. From zip lining to conquering a challenging obstacle course, each activity not only provided an adrenaline rush but also instilled a sense of camaraderie among the students. Students also enjoyed a magic show and ended the day with dancing to the beats of the DJ.

          Amidst the adventure, the students enjoyed a picnic lunch surrounded by the park's serene landscapes. This provided a welcome break, allowing students to unwind and share their experiences with peers.

          The day trip to Najafgarh Eco Adventure Park was a resounding success. Such excursions play a crucial role in the holistic development of children.

             EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO NATIONAL CRAFTS MUSEUM AND HASTKALA ACADEMY

            Arwachin International School organised an educational trip to National Crafts Museum and Hastkala Academy on 27 December 2023 for the students of Class V. This trip provided students with the chance to explore Cultic Gallery, folk, tribal and textile gallery and also the Village complex.

            Students explored diverse artifacts, vast collection of traditional hand-crafted Indian textiles and 19 structures of village dwellings representing different parts of India.

            Students had the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the handloom weaving machine, its operation, and the techniques involved in creating designs on fabrics using it. The trip ignited curiosity among the students about the diverse and intricate crafts of India.

            The experience was both enriching and enjoyable thereby deepening the students' understanding of Indian craftsmanship.

              Arwachin International School organized an educational trip to Weavers’ Colony on 26 and 27 December, 2023 for Class III. This trip provided students with a chance to witness and learn about how yarn is spun out of fibre and then convert it into fabric.

              During the visit, students were captivated by the process of weaving, and teachers briefed them about its historical significance. The trip sparked curiosity among students, who were actively engaged with the experience.

              It was an enriching experience that combined enjoyment with learning, deepening the students' knowledge about weaving.

                On December 26, 2023, Arwachin International School organized a special assembly commemorating Veer Bal Diwas, a day dedicated to celebrate the courage and valour of young warriors. The event aimed to instill a sense of patriotism and admiration for the brave souls who have contributed to the nation’s strength.

                Mrs Grover, the academic coordinator of classes VI to VIII and a passionate story teller, engaged the students with the narration of the story of these young heroes. It was followed by the screening of a video highlighting the inspiring stories of Chaar Sahibzaade who sacrificed their lives for the country.

                The video not only provided the historical context but also served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by children in the pursuit of freedom and justice.Based on the same,students actively participated in various activities like poster making, quiz and essay writing for a memorable and impactful learning experience. This assembly fostered a spirit of pride and gratitude among the school community.

                  ‘अनुभूति सांस्कृतिक मेला

                  अर्वाचीन इंटरनेशनल स्कूल द्वारा ‘अनुभूति’ सांस्कृतिक मेले का आयोजन 23 दिसंबर 2023 को किया गया| विद्यालय में विभिन्न कला रूपों की प्रदर्शनी आयोजित की गई| कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ विद्यालय के आदरणीय अध्यक्ष श्री अरुण शर्मा जी, माननीय निर्देशक, प्रधानाचार्या और मुख्य अतिथि श्री उत्तम जी ने दीप प्रज्वलित करके किया| यह मेला विविध कलाओं और परम्पराओं का एक जीवंत उत्सव था| इन क्षेत्रों में अनुभवात्मक गतिविधि क्षेत्र और बहु विषयक शिक्षा पर ज़ोर देने वाला एनईपी स्टॉल था, जिसे सभी ने सराहा|

                  मेले में छात्रों ने विभिन्न राज्यों के नृत्य, संगीत, नुक्कड़ नाटक और वाद्य संगीत के माध्यम से सांस्कृतिक संदेशों को साझा किया| सभी आगंतुकों ने मनोरंजक खेलों के स्टॉल, पूर्व प्राथमिक कक्षाओं के स्टॉल, हस्तशिल्प और व्यावसायिक कला के कार्यों का आनंद लिया| यह अर्वाचीन इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के 20 वर्षों की उत्कृष्टता के सफल सफ़र को धूमधाम से मनाने का एक अद्वितीय अवसर था| सभी अभिभावकों ने विभिन्न खाद्य स्टॉलों पर अनेक प्रकार के व्यंजनों का आनंद लिया| कार्यक्रम का समापन लकी ड्रा के साथ हुआ जिसमें विजेताओं ने शानदार पुरस्कार जीते|

                    Arwachin International School organised a Cultural Mela ‘Anubhuti’ inspired by Indian values and cultures on 23 December 2023. It aimed to celebrate the spirit of joy, learning, and unity resonating the collective spirit of putting Nation First. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the revered Chairman, Mr. Arun Sharma, honourable directors, Mr.Akshat Sharma and Mrs. Ayushi Sharma, respected Principal, Mrs. Dimple Puri and esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Uttam. It was a vibrant celebration of diverse arts and traditions, offering multiple zones catering to various cultural and learning activities. These zones included NEP stall emphasizing our commitment to experiential and multidisciplinary learning, which was adored by everyone. It celebrated the 20 years of excellence at Arwachin.

                    All the visitors enjoyed engaging fun games stalls, joy junction of pre-primary, handicrafts and vocational art work. The Reading Corner and NBT Bus book fair was a delight for the readers. The visitors also relished the diverse range of cuisine at our food stalls. The visitors were mesmerised by the seamless live performances. They shared their valuable and encouraging feedback. The event concluded with the lucky draw in which the winners won fabulous prizes.

                    Overall, it was an amalgamation of educational elements with entertainment, promoting critical thinking alongside joyous celebrations.

                      The United Nations had declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets. Millet Mela 2023 was held at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat. Students of Arwachin International School enthusiastically participated in this two-day event.

                      Visit to Mela( 19 December, 2023)

                       The students of class IV, along with their teachers, Mrs. Poonam Sachdeva and Mr. Thapa visited the Millet Mela.   The theme of the mela was “Bringing millets into Children’s Diet”.

                      The mela was organised to create awareness about millets as a healthy and nutritious food option. It showcased different types of millets, their nutritional value, value-added products from millets and how they can be incorporated into everyday meals. There were many stalls displaying millet-based products at the mela. There were also messages on benefits of consuming millets.

                      The visit successfully inspired the students  to embrace the goodness of millets for a healthier lifestyle.

                        Charan Kaur, a student of Class XII from Arwachin International School, showcased her artistic prowess in the Zonal ‘On the Spot Painting’ competition in the Senior Girls’ category organized by the DoE. Excelling at both the Zonal and District levels, she secured the first position, earning her a well-deserved spot at the State level competition. The school takes immense pride and honour to announce that her dedication and artistic excellence on this prestigious platform has brought laurels to the schools by clinching the Second position at the State level.

                           A day long Japanese Language Mini Camp  was organised by Japanese Language School Teachers’ Association (JALSTA)  hosted by Amity International School, Vasundhara,Ghaziabad on December 16th, 2023. It was supported by the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation, New Delhi (JFND), Japan Airlines (JAL), Japanese overseas cooperation volunteers (JOCVs) and the Japanese tea ceremony club of Delhi.

                          The camp started with the orientation followed by icebreaking Japanese game, Poster making and presentation competition. Arwachinians bagged 2nd position in this prestigious competition.

                          The students experienced various Japanese cultural activities and games like Kamizumou, Tea Ceremony, Yukata wearing, Suikawari, Karuta, Kendama, Judo, etc. during the camp.

                          The event concluded with the Bon Odori dance, a traditional Japanese dance of Obon festival.

                          The Japanese language students of Class 7 along with their Japanese language teachers, Mrs.Vandana Jain, Ms.MimansaThapliyal and JOCV Mr.Rei Okamoto attended the camp.

                          The students enjoyed the activities and were able to learn about Japanese culture. They were really motivated to study the Japanese language in future.

                            “Learning a language is the foremost step in the life of a child as it helps him/her to communicate with the world” . In order to develop the habit of learning the spellings and the correct pronunciation, The Spell Well Competition of classes L.K.G and U.K.G was conducted on 14th December 2023. The competition was conducted to give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways, enrich their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of correct English.
                            The finalists were selected after the 2 preliminary rounds. In the final round, questions were asked from all the subjects.
                            Children participated earnestly in the competition. Their efforts and initiative were  appreciated by one and all.

                              INDIAN ARMY VETERANS HALF MARATHON-2023

                              On December 10 2023, an honour Run was organized at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to pay tribute to our Indian army martyrs, with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) flagging off the run. Various militants, civilian dignitaries, and gallantry awardees actively participated in the event.

                              The unit received a kit comprising of T-shirt, bag, and refreshments. The vibrant atmosphere in the stadium, filled with motivational music and dance performances, added to the positive energy of the event.

                              The run commenced at 8 am, and the entire crowd, including the war veterans, displayed high motivation. After crossing the finish line, participants were awarded participation medals and provided with refreshments.

                              The opportunity to meet and interact with army officers was particularly inspiring. This experience provided valuable insights into the challenges faced during the war.

                               A.N.O Lt. Dinesh Chand Papnay and Commanding Officer Col. Atul Maithani gave this incredible opportunity to cadet Aryash Jain of class 11 A for this great learning experience.

                                मावरिक प्रकाशन द्वारा 10 दिसंबर 2023  को   एन पी 2020 और एन सी एफ 2023 के परिप्रेक्ष्य में हिंदी शिक्षण :  हिंदी विषयों के पठन-पाठन में आए हुए बदलावों से सम्बन्धित  कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यशाला का संचालन श्रीमती नीलम अरोड़ा जी ने किया । इस कार्यशाला में अर्वाचीन इंटरनेशनल स्कूल, दिलशाद गार्डन, दिल्ली के हिंदी विभाग की अध्यापिकाएँ श्रीमती शीतल यादव और श्रीमती गायित्री  के द्वारा भाग लिया गया ।

                                 इस कार्यशाला में नई शिक्षा नीति के अनुसार पाठ योजना बनाना, प्रश्न पत्र  निर्माण तथा विद्यार्थियों में उच्चारण संबंधी अशुद्धियों को दूर करने संबंधी अनेक  ज्ञानवर्धक जानकारियाँ  प्रदान की  गईं। भाषा कौशलों के विकास संबंधित गतिविधियाँ  भी सुझाई गई। यह कार्यशाला अत्यंत लाभप्रद एवं  ज्ञानवर्धक थी।

                                  Oxford University Press had conducted a townhall Workshop for teachers and special educators on 9 December’2023 at Park Inn IP Extn. The duration of the workshop was from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

                                  The workshop was about the effective implementation of NCF 2023 for Mathematics at the foundational and Preparatory Stages.The session provided innovative ways to adopt interdisciplinary approach the subject of mathematics for foundational  and preparatory stage.It was an enlightening day filled with exciting possibilities for teachers to disseminate the learning experience with the students in the classroom.

                                  The workshop equipped the teachers with powerful tools to explain the contents of mathematics. The programme began with the introduction of ELPS to tell the importance of Experience, Language, Pictures and Symbol in child’s life to explore the particular topic. The teachers learnt about various activities related to Place values,Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division and Symmetry to explore the basic concepts.

                                  In conclusion, the whole event was interesting and the approaches will help to paint a brighter, more colorful future in education by creating a more engaging and enriching learning experience.

                                    “Champions keep playing until they get it right”.

                                    The pre-primary wing of AIS held its Sports day on 8thDecember 2023 with great zeal. The event started with the Lighting of the lamp by Hon. Director, Mrs. Ayushi Sharma and Principal Mrs. Puri. Their presence graced the event and encouraged the students as well. There was a fabulous display of colorful drills i.e. Pom pom drill, All Sports drill, Flower Drill, Ribbon drill, Parachute drill followed by aerobic with music by L.K.G and U.K.G children. They showcased their talents to the best. All the children participated in the races energetically and won medals too. In the end, the children were praised for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship by Mrs. Ayushi Sharma. The tiny-tots were full of energy and enthusiasm throughout the event.

                                       The students of Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden participated in the National Tug of war championship (mix and boys) from 4 December to 7 December 2023 which was held in Palghar, Maharashtra. To represent the Delhi state was indeed a matter of prestige and pride and the Arwachinians were quite justifiably proud of themselves.

                                      Selected players from all over Delhi came together to participate as a team in the championship. The U-15 and U-17 boys stood first followed by U-19 boys, mix and U-15 mix who grabbed second position. U-17 mix stood third in their category. Once again, Arwachinian students displayed their passion for sports and proved that there is no substitute to hard work. Congratulations to all our teams!

                                            इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय कला केंद्र एवं हिंदुस्तानी भाषा अकादमी के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में भारतीय भाषा दिवस 11 दिसंबर 2023 के उपलक्ष्य में 6 दिसंबर 2023 को आयोजित भारतीय भाषा उत्सव में हमारे विद्यालय अर्वाचीन इंटरनेशनल विद्यालय के 74 छात्रों को एवं चार शिक्षिकाओं को सम्मानित किया गया।
                                            यह कार्यक्रम तालकटोरा स्टेडियम में आयोजित किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में आदरणीय पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डॉ रामकुमार कोविद एवं माननीय संस्कृति एवं विदेश राज्य मंत्री श्रीमती मीनाक्षी लेखी भी मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित थे ।
                                            इस कार्यक्रम में वर्ष 2022- 23 में हिंदी और संस्कृत विषय में 90% से अधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले 74 मेधावी छात्रों को
                                            पदक एवं प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान किए गए ।

                                              “Music gives wings to the heart and takes it to the world of joy”

                                              An Indian Music competition of Pre- Primary was held on 30th November, 2023 at Arwachin International School, Dilshad garden.

                                              The competition gave a platform to the melodious singers to exhibit their talent and express their confidence by active participation.

                                              The competition was divided into 2 categories- solo and group. The competition started by the sweet voices of LKG , who sang the songs - Nani teri morni, Re maama re , Lakdi ki kaathi” very beautifully.

                                              Next, was the group song performances of UKG children who sang the songs “Hum honge kaamyaab, Suraj par hum karein sawaari ,and Teri hai zameen.”

                                              Last but not the least was the turn of solo performances by the UKG children. They showcased their talent by their melodious songs- “Ghode jaisi chaal, Bam bam bole and Akkad bakkad”.

                                              The competition came to an end with some motivating words by the Foundation wing’s Coordinator Ms. Natasha Sharma .She announced the results and praised the children and the teachers for their brilliant performances and motivated them to continue doing the good work.

                                                    Anuvrat Foundation organized the ‘On the Spot Painting’ competition as a platform for budding artists to showcase their talent and address pressing issues. The event was first held at the school level followed by the selected  entries at the district level held on 2nd December 2023 at Anuvrat Bhawan, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi.

                                                    The competition had enthusiastic participation of students across the district, among whom Charan Kaur of Class XII of Arwachin International School stood out. She demonstrated her exceptional artistic skills in depiction of the theme ‘Freedom from Pollution’. Her unique approach and attention to detail not only captivated the audience but also earned her the prestigious title of ‘District Level Winner’.

                                                    The school is extremely proud of her achievement as she brought not only laurels to the school but also qualified herself for the State Level Competition.
