School trips are each and every student’s most loved dream and most cherished memory of their life at school. It was an adventure packed trip organized to bring in the concept of ‘LIFE COACHING’ for the students.

The students began their journey from Delhi on the night of 22nd and reached Nainital on 23rd morning.  After a trek to ‘Camp Twilight’ the students were given an introduction and were sorted into teams. They were asked to come up with catchy slogans and names for their respective teams. The students took part in various commando rope course activities over the course of the two days they spent at the camp. They enjoyed activities like Flying Fox, Free Fall, Zip-Line and Zumaring, that pushed them out of their comfort zones. In the evenings, the students enjoyed singing and enacting skits on various current issues and subjects around a huge bonfire. They also went on a night trek. It seemed to be the best part of the trip where the students witnessed the magnificent skyline of Haldwani in the pitch black darkness. On their 3rd day at Nainital, the students explored the mall road and enjoyed boating.

Everyone felt peace amongst the hills and the beautiful nature. It was one of the most memorable experiences for all those who became a part of the trip.

‘A happy teacher means a happy classroom'

A Capacity Building Program on the topic 'Happy Classroom' was organized by C. B. S. E (COE) on 9th May, 2023. The resource persons were Dr. Nishi Phogat and Mr. Pankaj Munjal. Mrs. Nitya Sharma and Ms. Surbhi Sareen of Arwachin International School attended this program.

The agenda of the workshop was a discussion on emotional quotient, strategies for self-regulation, understanding relationships and decoding behavioural language. The teachers were asked to state their perspectives on various situations, explore “self", work on self-awareness, learn self-regulation, time management and achieve social competence.

The resource person opined that the purpose of education is to create happy individuals and happiness in classroom will definitely help to enhance the learning experience of students. They also elucidated that during situations that trigger emotions, one must exercise the STOP technique which helps one to respond rather than react. The technique involves five steps –

                                  (1) S- Stop or pause for a moment,

                                  (2) T – Take a deep breath,

                                  (3) O- Observe your thoughts,

                                  (4) P – Pull Back and put in some perspective, and

                                  (5) P – Practice (what works & proceed).

At the end of the session, a questionnaire was given to all the attendees. It was a very informative session.
