3rd ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF NEP, 2020
NEP, 2020, was launched to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society through broad-based, flexible, multi disciplinary education suited to 21st-century needs. During the three years of its implementation, the policy has brought a radical transformation in the realms of school, higher and skill education.
A two-day programmewas held on July 29 and 30July, 2023 at Pragati Maidan to celebrate its three year anniversary. It was attended by Ms. Surbhi Sareen, Ms.Atulya , Ms. Poonam Batra, Ms.Janvi Khurana, Ms. Akshita Mehra, Ms. Heena Parveen, Ms. Siddhi Sharma, Ms. Charu Sharma , Mr. Aditya Kumar along with 14 students and 10 parents. It provided a plat form to academic sector experts, policy makers, industry representatives, teachers and students from schools, higher education and skill institutions, among others, to share their insights, success stories and best practices in implementing the NEP 2020 and work out strategies for taking it further ahead.
There was a multimedia exhibition showcasing the best initiatives from school, higher education and the skill ecosystem. Two hundred multimedia stalls were set up by institutions and organisation under education and skill landscape, industry and key stakeholders. Over 2 lakh attendees visited the exhibition over the two days, including students, youth volunteers and participants of Yuva Sangam. The event was also attended by Union Minister for Education and Ministers of State for Education.
The main theme of the programme was to bring out the unique capabilities of each students, to promote critical thinking rather than rote memorization and to develop eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural technology.The schools should adopt transformational approach from a marks- based report card to a holistic evaluation. Such a step will set a child’s foundational skill to takeup a course as per their aptitude and competencies.
Overall it was a great learning experience.
