ONLINE CULTURAL EXCHANGE

An online cultural exchange programme between India and Japan was organised by Arwachin International School on 31st July, 2023 by the support of a Japanese educational company, Week-End, Japan.

The students of class 5th who are learning Japanese language participated in the event with their Japanese language teachers, Mrs. Vandana Jain, Ms. Mimansa Thapliyal and our JOCV, Mr. Rei Okamoto.

The hour-long event commenced with the exchange of greetings and introduction between the Indian and the Japanese students. Later, Arwachinians gave a presentation on culture, food, festivals and languages of India in Japanese.

The Japanese side consisted of primary school students who showcased numerous cultural objects of Japan such as Kimono, Ramen, Otedama, cube, etc.

The programme concluded with a Q&A session between the students of both the countries.

It was quite an informative and a wonderful session.

    The Arwachinians take the roads that lead to success passing through the boulevard of hardwork. Arwachin International School witnessed the auspicious occasion of Investiture Ceremony on 31st July 2023. Lt. Col. Tarun Singh was invited as the chief guest and Ms. Madhur Gupta, Principal, Genesis Global School, Noida was invited as the Guest of Honour for the programme. Our Director, Mrs Ayushi Sharma, Principal Mrs Nair and Ms Dimple Puri were among the other dignitaries who conferred the honourary badges to the newly elected council members. The new faces of the student council, who would lead the students of the school, came up. Ishaan Sharma and Vaibhavi Rao of class 12 are entitled the Head Boy and the Head Girl respectively.

    After the conferring of the badges, the proud members of the student council took the oath.

     

    The event ended with the speech by the council members and blessed with by the Chief Guest and our Principal Mrs Nair.

        3rd ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF NEP, 2020

        NEP, 2020, was launched to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society through broad-based, flexible, multi disciplinary education suited to 21st-century needs. During the three years of its implementation, the policy has brought a radical transformation in the realms of school, higher and skill education.

        A two-day programmewas held on July 29 and 30July, 2023 at Pragati Maidan to celebrate its three year anniversary. It was attended by Ms. Surbhi Sareen, Ms.Atulya , Ms. Poonam Batra, Ms.Janvi Khurana, Ms. Akshita Mehra, Ms. Heena Parveen, Ms. Siddhi Sharma, Ms. Charu Sharma , Mr. Aditya Kumar along with 14 students and 10 parents. It provided a plat form to academic sector experts, policy makers, industry representatives, teachers and students from schools, higher education and skill institutions, among others, to share their insights, success stories and best practices in implementing the NEP 2020 and work out strategies for taking it further ahead.

        There was a multimedia exhibition showcasing the best initiatives from school, higher education and the skill ecosystem. Two hundred multimedia stalls were set up by institutions and organisation under education and skill landscape, industry and key stakeholders. Over 2 lakh attendees visited the exhibition over the two days, including students, youth volunteers and participants of Yuva Sangam. The event was also attended by Union Minister for Education and Ministers of State for Education.

        The main theme of the programme was to bring out the unique capabilities of each students, to promote critical thinking rather than rote memorization and to develop eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural technology.The schools should adopt transformational approach from a marks- based report card to a holistic evaluation. Such a step will set a child’s foundational skill to takeup a course as per their aptitude and competencies.

         Overall it was a great learning experience.

            Arwachin International School celebrated ‘The 'Scholar’s Day’ on 26 July, 2023. It was the day to rejoice for the meritorious students who had worked diligently to achieve their goals.

            The occasion was graced by the presence of our Chief Guest, Ms Pranjal Patil- District Magistrate, Shahdara, The guests of honour, Mrs Veena Mishra- Principal of Victor Public School, Patpatganj and Mrs. Charu Srivastava- Director and Principal of Samarth International School, Loni.

            The ceremony commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and a motivational song followed by a breathtaking performance by the young instrumentalists. The scholars were elated as they were awarded with medals, trophies and certificates. A total of around 205 were the proud recipients of this felicitation. Three students: Srishti Shah, Harsh Bansal and Ananya Kanthwal have been selected for Jaina Devi Scholarship.

            The cultural programme interwoven with the announcement of scholars made the celebration even more colourful. The high spirited performance on a patriotic song filled every heart with the spirit of oneness and positivity. This was followed by a riveting Kathak dance performance.

            A gleaming enthusiasm and triumphant spirit of the young scholars could be felt and seen. It was a proud moment for the parents to see their young scholars receiving the honour.

            The Chief guest, Ms Pranjal Patil congratulated the students on their success and motivated them to work even harder. Our guests of honour appreciated the efforts put in by the students who performed on the stage and congratulated the recipients of the awards. Our Directors – Mr Arun Sharma and Mrs Ayushi Sharma applauded the students and also appreciated the teachers for their hard work.

            The event culminated with vote of thanks by the Principal Mrs. Swapna Nair.

              “THEME - “USING PEP POETRY & AI ENABLED TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE”

               

              French language workshop was organised by Le Frehindi on 22nd July 2023 at Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka by Mr. Haru Mehra.

              French language workshop was organised to provide training to the teachers who teach French as a foreign language in schools.

              The primary goal of the workshop was to enhance the teaching skills, methodologies and approaches of participating educators to create a more engaging and effective learning environment for their students.

              Workshop Objectives:

              1. To describe the meaning of PEP poetry i.e. poem + action. How to apply this in the classroom to make the class more innovative and interacting.
              2. Role playing activities and language games to stimulate interest in learning.
              3. Next important Objective was to familiarize teachers with AI concept and it’s potential application in language education like ChatGpt.
              4. To encourage teachers to integrate AI technologies into their teaching practice efficiently.

              At the end, this workshop proved to be valuable and motivated French language educators the techniques to use AI in their classes.

              Moreover, the workshop was helpful for the teachers to interact with other French teachers working in different schools and share theirexperiences.

              The teachers were awarded with the certificate of participation.

                A Japanese language event was organized by JALSTA in collaboration with the JFND on 17th July, 2023 at the Japan Foundation, New Delhi. The motive of the event was to discuss the importance of cultural exchange programmes for the growth of good relationship and strengthen understanding between Indian and Japanese students.

                The event commenced with the Cos Play activity by school students who had recently participated in an Educational and Fun Trip in Tokyo, Japan. It was followed by the presentations prepared by the same students based on their experience during their visit to Japan.

                The event was attended by dignitaries from the Embassy of Japan, MEA, JFND, JAL etc. Mr. Koji Sato, Director, JFND, Ms. Hokugo, Economic Minister, the Embassy of Japan in India and Prof. Ashok Chawla, Advisor, MEA who enlightened the participants with their words of wisdom.

                Our Japanese Language Teachers, Mrs. Vandana Jain, Ms. Mimansa Thapliyal along with JOCV Mr. Okamoto Rei attended the event with great enthusiasm.

                  Interactive assembly on the topic ‘anti-bullying’ was conducted by class 10 B on 11th July 2023.

                  The assembly commenced with a nukkad natak which portrayed the different forms of bullying and its effect on the life of the victims. A video was also shown to give a better and clear understanding of the term. Next in line was the informative speech which made students aware about the anti- bullying committee in our school and how it works to help the students.

                  The assembly concluded with some motivational and thoughtful words by our respected principal, Mrs Nair. She congratulated the students and the teachers incharge, Mrs Sunita Suri and Mrs Deepika Chawla for taking up such a wonderful topic and presenting it so effectively.

                    “Design creates culture. Culture shapes values, Value determines the future.”

                    An Art teacher Conclave was conducted at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies on 08 July 2023. It was attended by Art teachers i.e Mrs. Deeba Rukhsar, Ms. Soma Das and Ms. Charu Sharma.

                    The workshop aimed to build each participant’s overall understanding of Art Integration with other subjects globally and the techniques to apply it in the class.

                    The topics covered were Design Thinking, Forms in art anddesign and Pedagogy in design teaching in schools anditsconnection with industries.

                    The workshop included panel discussions, interactions, networking and support needed by schools.

                    The attendees were taught how children mature as they keep drawing and sketching and how sculpture begin to reflect their observations of the world.

                    It was a very informative session for all the attendees.

                      “The power of a good speech can never be undermined”

                      Inter-House English Declamation Competition was organised by Arwachin International School on 7th July 2023 for the students of classes 9-12 to hone their oratory skills. The topic for the competition was “Importance of Sustainable Development for future generations”. Each house had two participants from the Girls’ and the Boys’ Category who presented their speech confidently with expression and excellent diction.

                       

                      The participants were:

                      Bose House: Sarah Javed (10B) & Saubhagya (9A)

                      Tilak House: Luv Arora (12C) & NavyaNarula (9A)

                      Mrs SunitaSuri from the Science Department, Mrs Krati Jain from the Social Science Department and Mrs Isha Pandit from the English Department judged the competition. Tilak House bagged the 1st position followed by Bose and Shastri House in the 3rd and 4th position respectively.

                       

                      Navya Narulafrom Tilak House grabbed the award for the best speaker.

                       

                      Principal, Mrs Swapna Nair appreciated the efforts of all the participants and encouraged the other students to come forward and participate in such events.

                        KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS is named after the success of Operation Vijay. On 26th  July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which were lost by the  Pakistani intruders. An interactive assembly was organized by students of Grade VII Con 6th July 2023, to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the country.

                        The assembly started with a prayer followed by a speech on Kargil Vijay Diwas which emphasised on the value of peace in our lives. The participants enthralled the audience with a patriotic song. A group of students amazed everyone by  scintillating thoughts and dance performances. The Assembly concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

                        Finally, our honorable Principal, Mrs. Nair, shared words of motivation with the students and the assembly concluded. This assembly truly highlighted the spirit of valour and sacrifice made by the soldiers. It sensitized the students to remember and appreciate the contribution of the courageous Indian Army in protecting our nation.

                            अंतर-सदनीय वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता 2023-24 (VI-VIII)

                            5 जुलाई, 2023 को अर्वाचीन इंटरनेशनल स्कूल में एक अंतर-सदनीय वाद विवाद प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई। इसमें कक्षा 6 से 8 तक के छात्रों ने भाग लिया। इस वाद विवाद प्रतियोगिता का विषय था बच्चों को जेबखर्च मिलना चाहिए या नहीं। इस प्रतियोगिता के माध्यम से छात्रों को अपनी आलोचनात्मक सोच और अनुनय कौशल का प्रदर्शन करने के लिए एक मंच प्रदान किया गया। प्रतियोगिता का निर्णायक श्रीमती दीपिका चावला श्रीमती राधा शर्मा और श्रीमती शीतल यादव द्वारा किया गया।

                            वाद विवाद प्रतियोगिता में चारों सदनों टैगोर बोस तिलक और शास्त्री के दो-दो वक्ताओं की टीम बनाई गई जिसमें एक प्रस्ताव के पक्ष में और दूसरी प्रस्ताव के विपक्ष में थीं। प्रतिभागियों ने इस विषय पर अपने-अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किए और इसके संबंध में अपना दृष्टिकोण सामने रखा। उन्होंने अपने मत को सही ठहराने के कारण भी गिनाए और वास्तविक जीवन के उपयुक्त उदाहरणों के साथ उनका समर्थन किया। बच्चों ने पूर्ण आत्मविश्वास के साथ अपनी बात को रखा। निर्णायक मंडल ने टैगोर सदन को 111 अंकों के साथ प्रथम स्थान पर विजेता घोषित किया। इसके साथ ही शास्त्री सदन 108 अंकों पर द्वितीय, तिलक सदन 105 अंकों पर तृतीय और बोस सदन 97.5 अंकों पर चतुर्थ स्थान पर रहा। तिलक सदन के अंश बंसल और शास्त्री सदन के वेदांत को सर्वश्रेष्ठ वाद विवादकर्ता घोषित किया गया। निर्णायकों द्वारा प्रतिभागियों के प्रयास की सराहना के साथ कार्यक्रम को समाप्त किया गया।
