SCREENING OF THE MOVIE 'THE COLOUR OF PARADISE' BY SPICMACAY

SCREENING OF THE MOVIE 'THE COLOUR OF PARADISE' BY SPICMACAY

SPIC MACAY is known for its incredible  determination to promote Indian art and support the artists.

One such initiative was the screening of the movie 'The Color of Paradise' by Majid Majidi on Jan 28. It beautifully captures the emotional turmoil of the little boy Mohammed studying in Tehran’s institute for blind who, with a lack of vision discovers new ways to observe the world.

Majid Majidi captures the essence of life through a masterfully created narrative which digs deep into the psyche of the characters and shows us the internal struggles they have to face.

It is a very heart touching movie. This movie showcases how a person's own way of perceiving the things makes his life miserable or worth living. Despite his disability he shows his kindness for every living being. This movie teaches us a lesson how to live our life with a positive approach towards life and accept it as a blessing of God.

The screening was followed by an interactive session with ParivashNiazzadeh - Research Scholar pursuing PhD in Literature & Films where children could ask their doubts and share their thoughts on the movie. Since the movie could be interpreted at different levels, this session helped students to learn about the views of others apart from their own perceptions.

                  Connecting and Communicating with Parents

                  Connecting and Communicating with Parents

CBSE organized a training on ‘Connecting and Communicating with Parents’ on 18th January, 2022. Mrs. Monica Chawla was the resource person. Priya Grover attended this session.

Mrs. Chawla shared the ground rules of effective communication with parents. The best way to avoid misunderstandings with parents is to have ongoing, clear lines of communication from the beginning. The more one keeps them informed about classroom news and include them in school happenings, the more they'll feel like a part of the team. Avoid discussing students with other parents or engaging in any negative faculty-room talk.Teachers mustassure parents that they will inform them immediately about any concerns they might have with regard to their child. When presenting a concern to parents, ALWAYS be ready to explain what strategies one already used to address the issue and what new strategies one is considering.

She also shared various innovative ways of punishing the students like assigning chores, Tidy up the clutter, role reversal, reduction in the T.V time etc.

                  The session was informative.
