Zonal Light Music Competition 2021-22

A fabulous Zonal Light Music competition was held on 28th December, 2021 at Queen Global International School,Dilshad Garden. It is a matter of immense pride for us to divulge that three students  from our school bagged prizes in it. In the Junior girls category,Tanvi Manglani of class 6 A secured 1st position. She sang a very melodious devotional song “Radhe Govind Krishna Murari ”. In the Junior boys category,Vasu Goyal of class 7A secured 1st  position. He sang a bhajan “Radhe Govind Krishna Murari”. In the Senior girls category,Vibhuti Gupta  of class 11 B secured 1st position. She sang a very melodious  song “Nirmano Ke Paawan ”. All students are selected for District level.

    The Zonal Classical Music Competition was splendidly organized at Queen Global International School,Dilshad Garden on 28 , December, 2021. One student of our school  took part in this event and became victorious.He exhibited his singing talent  wonderfully.In the Senior boys category, Aryansh Nigam of class 10C  secured 1st position. He sang “Raag Yaman”.He is selected for District level.

      Decision making Skills in Adolescents

      CBSE organized a training on ‘Decision making Skills in Adolescentson 27th December, 2021. Ms. SonaliBasu was the resource person. Priya Grover attended this session.

      Ms. Basustated that decision making is the key skill needed for our adolescents.Learning and using a decision making and problem solving process will help teens grow towards this goal.They will learn and grow from their successes and their mistakes.

      She emphasized that decision making skills should start early with giving young children small choices between two options. However, as children turn into teens they will need to learn to make more decisions as they develop independence. She stressed that it is important for adults to take care of their behavior in front of their children.

      It was an informative session.

        Arwachin International School is proud to share that our students had participated in this competition with great enthusiasm and brought several laurels.

        Sreejita Roy of 3–B participated in Craft Junkie and secured the 2nd position and showed her creativity using polythene /paper napkin floers.

        This activity helped making students sensitive towards the need of fit and healthy life .

        Prachi Garg of 11-D also participated in this competition and secured the 2ndposition.In the activity Craftie Junk and made a Sun Catcher . She secured Second position and made us proud.

        Anshika Sharma of 10-A participated in HasyaKavitaPaath and secured the 3rd position.

        Vibhuti Gupta of 11-B participated in singing competition.she sang a song “Nirmano ke Paawan Yug Mein”very melodiously and secured the 3rd position.

        ­ Paawni Parashar of Class 9-B bagged the 2nd position in the Solo Classical Dance Competition. She had performed amazingly well.

        It was an wonderful experience for all the participants.

          Capacity Building Programme in Cyber Security and Ethics

                    Mrs. Surya Laxmi attended the teacher training on “Cyber Security and Ethics ”on 20th December, 2021. It was conducted by CBSE CoE (Noida). The resource person was Ms. Vineeta Garg, IT Head, SRDAV School, Delhi.

          Ms. Garg focussed mainly on the mobile security awareness. She listed ten essential android security settings like App permissions, Safe browsing, Lock screen limitations, Screen pinning, Review location settings, Find my device, Emergency contact info etc.

          She then discussed about the various mobile frauds like QR code frauds, KYC frauds, OTP frauds, mobile tower frauds and smishing in smartphones and their impact. She also explained the dos and don’ts of the cyber world. In addition, she also explained netiquettes like how to make a strong password, safety measures to be taken while using internet and two step verification process to keep the data secure.

          She ended the session by giving some tips on how one’s mobile can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival.

          Overall, it was very informative and interesting session.

            Capacity Building Programme in Teaching Learning Styles

                      Mrs. Surya Laxmi attended the teacher training programon “Teaching Learning” on 18th December, 2021. It was conducted by CBSE CoE (Noida). The resource person was Mr. Charles Clarance, Principal, Dr. MPS World School, Agra.

            Mr. Charles started the session byexplaining the meaning of learning style, where  learning styles come from and why  teachers should know about learning styles.

            He emphasised on the four main types of learners – visual(seeing), auditory(hearing), tactile(touching) and kinesthetic(moving) learners. He went on explaining each type of learner and his preferences with examples. He then discussed the techniques,  teaching methods and activities that are suitable to cater to the needs of each type of learner.

            He also focussed on the qualities which  teachers need to possess like: moulding teaching strategies as per the learning needs of their students; innovate new and creative methods of teaching and learning and flexibility to give the learners what they will need in the distant future.

            Altogether, it was a very enriching session.

              Bloom’s Taxonomy and its Application

              CBSE CoEBegaluruorganized a capacity building training for teachers on 14thDecember, 2021. The topic was ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy and its Application’. The resource person was Mrs. PritiSsota,Vice Principal, Delhi Public School, Bangalore East. Priya Grover of Arwachin International School attended this training.

              Mrs. Ssota enlisted the various domains of instructional objectives, explained how to create objectives while planning of teaching learning process and design assessment tools and activities that evaluate the learning outcomes.

              She further explained the three domains i.e cognitive, affective and psychomotor. She stressed on the need to carefully plan the lessons and shift the focus from rote learning to learning by doing.

              A questionnaire was given to all the attendees at the end of the session. It was a very informative session.

                “Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” – John F. Kennedy

                Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium organized a 12 hour relay run for the curated seasoned runners and fitness enthusiasts. Being a part of such event along with his team, Mr. Dinesh Chand Papnay, Physical Education teacher and a pro runner from Arwachin International School grabbed this unique opportunity and stood out to be winner in 12 hour relay race to test his mileage and timing.

                Endless practice for months, focus and discipline made him run 22.50 km (50 lap) in 1 hour 59 minutes  and brought out an athlete in him.

                Mr. Panay was also facilitated by the Director, Mr. Arun Sharma and Principal, Mrs. Swapna Nair for his achievement and passion.

                    Collaboration activity with the partner school of Nepal

                     On 6th December 2021, Class 7A and 7B students of Arwachin International School interacted with the students of Swati Sadan School, Nepal. The topic was‘Post Covid Psychology’.

                    Mrs. Grover, Ms. Merin and Mrs. Mansipriya coordinated the activity withthe IDS coordinatorMr. Rajinder Sharma, of the partner school. The main objective of this interaction was to bring the students of both the schools face to face to discuss about psychology of people post Covid. There were numerous impressive questions asked and precise answers were given from both the ends. Students agreed that the world is going through the aftermath of the pandemic.They considered it to be a blessing in disguise as they discussed about their acquired skills during the lockdown. They were very optimistic that the world will bloom and prosper once again. The session was very informative and interactive. Students were very excited to come face to face.                       CBSE CoE Begaluruorganized an online training for teachers on 6th  December, 2021. The topic was ‘Digital Learning and Management’. The resource person was Mr. Manoj. M. Bhat, Principal, Shri Shrinivas Schools, Mudalagi. Priya Grover of Arwachin International School attended this training.

                      Mr. Bhat explained the link between digital learning and digital management. He further shared the need of digital learning which offers access to exclusive, prolific and updated content and accessibility is open, secure and uninterrupted. Moreover long training period, infrastructure, stationery, travel expenses etc is reduced. It promotes self-paced learning.

                      He further explained the challenges of digital learning wherein teachers have to learn how to use a variety of ICT applications, have to use and adapt to the digital tools etc. For this he stressed on possessing key skills to use technology effectively.

                        DEVELOPING SCIENTIFIC TEMPERAMENT

                        On 3rd December21, COE of Bangalore conducted an online training on ‘Developing Scientific Temperament’. The resource person was Mrs. Vamsheepriya Amar, Principal of MVJ International School, Bangalore. It was attended by Ms. Akshima Sharma. The main objective of the workshop was to understand the correct meaning of scientific temperament and how an individual should think scientifically and rationally in everyday life.

                        Mrs. Vamsheepriya stated that scientific temper is an attitude of logical, rational and scientific thinking. One should repeatedly observe and verify facts before forming any statement.

                        She also explained that human problems can be understood and solved in terms of knowledge gained through the application of the methods of science.

                        She ended the session by discussing the ways in which one can incorporate scientific temper in students. The session was very informative and interactive for the participants.
