                          KALA UTSAV DISTRICT LEVEL COMPETITION

Kala Utsav ,an initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education,Government of India organized  District Level Competitions in the month of November 2022.

The aim of this competition was to make students aware of the traditional folk and classical art forms.

Students of Arwachin International School also participated in the event and brought accolades for the school.

Sarakshi Tyagi of class 10 C bagged the 1st position for playing “Raag Tori” and kartikeya Narang of class 12 A also bagged the first position for playing Raag Ahirbhairav based composition on the harmonium melodiously.

The event enhanced the life skills of the participants and prepared them as the ambassadors of our traditions and culture.

    The Annual Inter-school Japanese Language Festival, Nihon no Kaori, 2022 under the aegis of DPS Society was held on November 30th, 2022 at DPS Greater Noida.

    The event was full of Japanese cultural activities like Origami, Tea Ceremony, Exhibition of the photographs clicked by Indians in Japan and a number of offsite and onsite competitions. The details of the competitions are as follow:

    Offsite Entries:

    1. 3D Origami Model  - to show Beauty Of Japan
    2. Travel Brochure Making  - to promote any one Japanese Prefecture

    Onsite Entries:

    1. Kimono Designing & Ramp Walk
    2. Japanese Song Performance
    3. Japanese Dance Performance
    4. Japanese Folk Tale Enactment

    A team of 27 Japanese language students of classes 7 to 9 along with their Japanese language teachers, Mrs. Vandana Jain, Mrs. Charandeep Kaur and Mr. Okamoto Rei attended the event. The students participated in all the competitions and enjoyed the activities as well.

    The students of Japanese Folk Tale Enactment bagged the 1st position, Kimono Designing & Ramp walk bagged the second and Travel Brochure Making secured the 2nd position.

      INTER HOUSE ENGLISH DRAMA COMPETITION 2022-23

      Arwachin International School organized the Inter House English Drama Competition on the theme Sustainable Development Goals on 30th November 2022. It aims not only to promote acting skills in the students but also to develop their overall personality as drama is a valuable activity in holistic development of the students. The competition was adjudged by Mrs. Usha Chauhan, Mrs. Priya Pathak and Mrs. Nidhi Sharma.

      All the four houses presented their drama enthusiastically and ebulliently on different SDGs. The first to present the drama was the Tilak House on Quality Education SDG 4. Next, came the students of Tagore House who presented drama on Gender Equality SDG 5. After that the students of Bose House presented the drama on Conserve Energy Save Electricity, SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy followed by the students of  Shastri House who presented the drama on Good Health and Well Being SDG 3. The audience enjoyed all the performances and learned the ways of leading a quality life and saving resources for the future.

      The esteemed judges announced the Bose House, the winner of the competition with the highest 150 points. The Shastri House and the Tilak House bagged second and third position respectively with 143 and 138.5 points each. Pratham Gupta and Lavanya Singh were announced the best actor male and female respectively. The competition concluded with the vitalizing and motivational words by the respected principal Mrs. Nair. She commended the efforts of all the participants and encouraged students to practice sustainable development in our lives for better future.

        Report on Pre- Primary Spell Well Competition 2022-23

        Language plays an important role in the all-round development of a student. Appropriate words with correct spelling convey the right message.
        In order to develop the habit of learning the spellings and the correct pronunciation, The Spell Well Competition of classes
        L.K.G and U.K.G was conducted on 30thNovember 2022. The competition was conducted to give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways, enrich their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of correct English.
        The finalists were selected after the 2 preliminary rounds. In the final round, questions were asked from all the subjects.

          Workshop on “Towards Competency Based Learning in EVS and Science

          Mrs. Richa Sharma, Mrs. Deepshikha and Mrs. Surya Laxmi attended a workshop on ‘Towards Competency Based Learning in EVS and Science’ on 26 November, 2022. The resource person was Ms. Vaishali Gupta, author, educationist and founder of ‘One Teacher One Scientist’.

          The following were the takeaways of the workshop:

          • Understanding the difference between group and collaborative activity.
          • 21st century skills- critical thinking, creativity and innovation, collaboration, communication, observation and problem solving.
          • Life skills – flexibility & adaptability, leadership & responsibility, initiative and self direction, social & cross-culture interaction, productivity and accountability.
          • Five domains of critical thinking – physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual.
          • How to use all the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy for a given topic.

          The participants were involved in  many activities like observing and comparing two different leaves, what if the cells of beehive were circular instead of hexagonal, comparing Wright Brothers’ aircraft with modern aeroplanes, data handling, observing a pitcher plant, building a low cost home where it rains a lot etc. All the activities had worksheets which involved all the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

          Overall, it was an enriching experience.

                The students of Arwachin International School, participated in an inter school competition,VIBGYOR 2022,hosted by Arwachin Bharti Bhawan,Vivek Vihar on 22 November 2022.

                Kartikeya Narang of Class 12 A participated in SUR YATRA (Instrument Play) category  and secured the 3rd Position.

                Ayush Goyal of 8B and Shambhavi of 7A participated in CREATIVE PEARL (FACE MASK) category and secured the 2nd Position.

                  VALUE BUILDING IS NATION BUILDING

                  ‘VALUE BUILDING IS NATION BUILDING’

                  Initiative for Moral and Cultural Training Foundation (IMCTF) organised a Dialect and Discussion on “Value Building is Nation Building” at Mount Abu Public School, Rohini, Delhi on 22. Nov, 2022. Many teachers from different schools of Delhi were a part of this workshop including Mrs Rachna Kaur from  Arwachin International School .

                  The programme started with a PPT showcasing the British view of education in India. The presentation included the following motifs:

                  • Conserve Forests &Protect Wildlife
                  • Preserve Ecology
                  • Sustain Environment
                  • Inculcate family & Human Values
                  • Foster Women’s Honour
                  • Instill Patriotism

                  Later the above mentioned topics were discussed by the founder and trustee, Mrs. Raj Laxshmi from Chennai, Mr.Somkant from Jaipur ,Mr.Gunwant Kothari  and Mr.AnupamBhatnagar from Delhi. They all threw a light on the culture and tradition of India and urged the teachers to inculcate it in our future generation. It was a very informative and fruitful session.

                    Online Workshop on “Emerging Technologies”

                    The workshop commenced with the introduction and importance of digital skills to make people future-ready and equip them with the knowledge of technology. The resource persons were Mr. Satish and Ms. Smitha.

                    The program was initiated by the Ministry of Electronics and executed by NASCAR to make India Digital Talent Hub of the future. ‘futureskillsprime’ website was introduced and the courses offered to upgrade the digital skills were explained by the resource persons. Initially it was B2B initiative but later the ministry made this to B2C initiative in which some of the courses have free access and some of them are paid.

                    3 levels of courses i.e. Digital, Foundation and Job Oriented are available. Even the virtual labs are offered for hands on practice. Certificates will also be provided after the completion and assessment of each course.

                    Ms. Anjali Sharma and Ms. Pooja Nemani attended this workshop. Overall it was an interesting and enriching session. This workshop was very informative as it helped to upgrade various skills.

                                                                     SPORTS DAY 2022-23

                        The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 19th November,22 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by our Principal, Mrs. Swapna Nair, Head mistress Mrs. Ayushi Sharma and the Chief Guest for the occasion - Spiritual Yoga Guru, Acharya Shri Yash Parashar, an international Gold Medalist in yogasana sports, two time Governor Award Winner from UP and Puducherry. Being an international yoga teacher and referee, he is the National Head of National Sports Promotion Organisation recognised by the Ministry of Sports of  India, President of Rashtriya Yog Bharti and the founder of yogasana book of  world record council.

                        The students of class 1 presented a well coordinated mass drill, followed by a colourful ribbon drill by the students of class 2 A and B. Following this was a dumbbell drill by the students of 2 C and an eye catching parachute drill by the students of 2D. After this the students of class 3 to 5 show-cased their Karate skills. Girls from classes 7-8 demonstrated a breath taking aerobics presentation. All these drills and presentations were a treat to the eyes.

                        After this, the class-wise events of the day began which included different types of races under the category of boys and girls. The events included 100m, 200m, and 400m races, and relay races. Class 4-5 had hurdle race too. Winners of the different events were declared simultaneously. They were honoured by our respected chief guest, Mrs. Nair and Mrs. Ayushi Sharma. The enthusiasm among the students was evident on the field.

                        The day ended with the speech by the Chief Guest where he emphasized upon the importance of sports in one’s life, how it creates discipline in the children and make them emotionally stable. It also develops team spirit amongst children. It was a fun filled day with lots of smiling faces, showing their medals to their peers and teachers.

                           The students of Arwachin International School, attended the Global Thinkers Conclave organized by Khaitan Public School for 2 days, i.e. 18th and 19th November 2022.

                          The entire MUN, while being extremely fun and engaging, also proved to be informative for all participants, from the committees ranging from International Press to Child Entrepreneurship.

                          Ridhima Aery of class 11th D got the award for ‘Best Caricaturist’, while Ishaan Sharma of class 11th B got ‘High commendation’.

                            CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

                            The CBSE conducted a two-day work on capacity building  programme  for teachers teaching secondary classes on 18th and 19th of November 2022  at Queen’s Valley School, Dwarka. The work shop was attended by two of our teachers, Mrs. Sunita Suri & Mrs. Deepali Julka. The resource person for the workshop were Mrs. Monika Mehan, the Principal of M.L. Khanna  DAV Public School, Dwarka. Nearly 30 teachers from different schools attended the workshop. The workshop aimed at acquiring the expertise to make the classroom more  engaging and gaining scientific temperament.

                            The session started with an ice breaker session where all the participants acquainted themselves with each other. Many interesting group and individual activities were conducted that  boosted up the workshop. The activities like demonstration, role play, peer teaching  were planned in a manner that they can be conducted in the classes  to inculcate the scientific temperament in the students .  The workshop also focused on drafting of test items based on Bloom’s Taxonomy .

                            The workshop enlightened and empowered the teachers  to update the teaching techniques  and creating innovative ideas to captivate the interest of the students.                               It is a proud moment to share that the District Level Cultural Dance Competition was held on November 18, 2022 in SKV, Gokulpur Village.  Arnav Jain of Class IX -C has bagged the 2nd position in this reputed competition. He performed Kathak dance to the tunes of Shiv Tandav. He was appreciated by the judges.

                                Opportunities come along your way throughout life, if we utilize them at the right time, it leads to a successful life.

                                A career fair was organized on 18th November 2022 by our school for the students of grade 12th in association with EDUTV. The school hosted representatives from various reputed colleges and institutions.

                                The participating institutions were:

                                • IAMR group of Institutions
                                • Graphic Era University, Dehradun

                                The participating universities began the fair with a panel discussion on “New Age Careers”, which helped the students to broaden their horizons and gain insight about the various career options that are now emerging post grade 12th.

                                To conclude the fair, the universities set up stalls where they had one on one discussion with the students, informing each one about the courses they offer and solving their queries.

                                  Cyber Safety Workshop

                                  “Cyber Security is not easy but it’s come down to three principles- Protect, Detect and Respond .”

                                  Computers have changed the way we perceive the world.  They are like a double edged sword. They have helped the development of humans in various ways; however they have also increased problems for us.

                                  A Cyber Safety workshop was conducted by Mr. Salman, a Cyber Safety Expert, at Arwachin International School on 18th November 2022  for the students of classes 9 to 12.

                                  The Resource person gave insight of various security provision present in various networking for the safety of students against Cyber Crime. He also shared the  safety features that could be enabled in the browser while surfing the Internet these  days. It was a very informative workshop, which kept the audience involved and engaged throughout.

                                  Thus he concluded the workshop with the words “New technology is not good or evil in and of itself. It's all about how people choose to use it.”

                                    SCHOOL PICNIC 2022 -23

                                    School picnic provides a great opportunity for students to cherish wonderful experience that can contribute significantly to their personal development. Hence, it is important for the holistic development of the students. The school organized the much awaited school picnic for classes 9 to 12 to Rangmanch Farms, an outdoor amusement park in Gurugram, full of fun activities and games on 16th November 2022.  The venue was surrounded by fresh air and greenery all around. The students were accompanied by their teachers.

                                    The students had great fun and spent the day enjoying various activities such as camel and horse riding, rope climbing, zip lining, tractor rides, archery, illusion rooms and the numerous swings at the park. The students were also provided a vast menu for breakfast and lunch. The experience was truly enthralling for the students. The activities were drawn to a close with a DJ, where the students danced their hearts out. It was a happy and fun filled day for the students where they enjoyed the utmost.

                                      The Ministry of Power organized a State level Painting Competition for classes V to X  in the of month of October. Arwachinians participated in the competition. They were divided into two categories:-

                                      Category A : Classes V, VI & VII and CategoryB : VIII, IX & X

                                      The  topics of the competition were as follows:

                                      1. Category A :

                                      1. Light the Candle of Patriotism, Save Energy for the Nation.

                                      2. Let’s Make a World of Dreams by Creating Rule of Energy Saving.

                                      1. Category B :

                                      1. Let’s Write the Future - Switch to Electric Vehicle.

                                       2. Let us Rise and Complete our Duty, Save Energy for Nation

                                        Children’s Day Report

                                        November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day and to make this day memorable, Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, celebrated it to make it unforgettable for its students. The day focused on children and commemorated with immense enthusiasm and magnificence. Students were allowed to be in casuals and were seen brimming with joy.

                                        This day was made special by organizing a plethora of fun filled activities like Magic show, puppet show and movie show for Pre Primary to grade 5 students. Senior students enjoyed playing games like hoopla rings, volley ball, hit the balloons etc. Students shook their legs to the popular tracks and had a gala time. Special arrangement was done to provide mouthwatering dishes to them.

                                        All the events brought a smile on the faces of the children. They were overwhelmed and will remember this day for years to come.

                                                       District Level Kala Utsav Competition

                                          Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country.

                                          It is a proud moment to share that the District Level Kala Utsav Competition was held on 14 November, 2022 in GSKV, Dilshad Garden and Arnav Jain of Class IX -C has bagged the 2nd position in this reputed competition. Arnav performed Kathak dance to the tunes of Shiv Tandav. He was appreciated by the judges. We wish Arnav all the best for his future endeavours.

                                            PARTICIPATION IN JAPANESE LANGUAGE MINI CAMP, 2022

                                            The Japanese Language Mini Camp was organized by Japanese Language School Teachers’ Association (JALSTA) on 11th November, 2022 at Bluebells School International Kailash Colony, New Delhi. It was supported by the Japan Foundation, New Delhi (JFND), the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Airlines (JAL), Japanese overseas cooperation volunteers (JOCVs) and the Japanese Tea Ceremony Club of Delhi.

                                            The camp started with the orientation followed by the speech by Ms. Yuka Hayakawa, Director, JFND. The programme proceeded with icebraking Japanese games and Manga/Anime drawing competition.The students experienced various Japanese culture like Origami, Karaoke, Calligraphy, Okonomiyaki making, Tea Ceremony, Yukata Wearing, Karuta and Aikido etc. during the camp.

                                            The event concluded with the speech by Professor Ashok Kumar Chawla, Advisor (Japan), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Mr. Yohenara Yasuhiro, First Secretary of Cultural Affairs at Japanese Embassy in Delhi and Mr. Atsushi Yokata, Vice- President - Administration, Japan Airlines.

                                            The Japanese language students of Class 7 along with their Japanese Language Teachers, Mrs. Vandana Jain and Mrs. Charandeep Kaur attended the camp. The students also performed Soranbushi, an energetic Japanese traditional dance at the closing ceremony.

                                            The students enjoyed the activities and were able to learn about Japanese culture. They were really motivated to study Japanese language in future.

                                              Hillwoods Academy, Preet Vihar organized Confluence 2022 (An online Inter School Competition) on November 5, 2022. Ashwik Pathak of class 1C bagged the 1st position in the Tearing and Pasting Competition. Reyansh Jain of class 2D secured the 2nd position in the Solo Patriotic Singing Competition. It was a great learning experience for the students.

                                                INTER-HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITION

                                                Science quiz aims to ignite the minds of the students  and inculcate the spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking.  On 4 November ,2022 Arwachin International school organized the Inter-House Science quiz competition for students of classes 6-12. The format of the quiz entailed three rounds and varied types of questions asked triggered the curious minds and made it a fun and learning event.

                                                In the first round ,question were asked according to the grades. The second round was ‘Rapid Fire round’. The third  and the last round was Visual round where students were asked to identify the images. This was a buzzer round. If none of teams were able to answer , then the question was passed to the audience.

                                                The result of the competition is as follows:

                                                • Shastri House bagged the  First position by scoring the highest 111  points.
                                                • Bose house secured the second position by scoring  105 points.
                                                • Tilak house and Tagore house scored the third and fourth position respectively

                                                The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of  not only participants but also audience .

                                                At last our honourable  Principal Mrs Swapna Nair appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and motivated them.
