Soulful renditions at AIS

An Indian Music Inter-House Competition for classes VI-VIII was held at Arwachin International School on 21ST May 2022. The auditorium of AIS was stirred up by melodious ragas and songs during the Inter House Indian Music Competition. Students of all the four houses rigorously fought for the first position. The competition was carried out in three categories: solo, duet and group. The beautiful notes of the ragas and songs created a mesmerizing environment and caught up everyone’s attention. Music is a way to connect to one’s soul and at AIS, holistic growth and development is given prime importance. The children had a great time listening to the various melodies. Bose house bagged the first prize in solo, Tilak house bagged the first prize in duet and Bose house bagged the first prize in group category. Bose house emerged as the overall winner, keeping into account all the marks secured by the students. The competition was a great success and was appreciated by everyone. All the students sang in a melodious voice and the auditorium of Arwachin International School echoed with sweet melodies.

The first round was of the solo singing round in which the following students performed beautifully:

Ansh Awasthi (X A) – Tilak house, on the song “Raag Tilak Kamod”.

Sanskriti Agarwal (VIII A) – Tagore House, on the song “Raag Bhupali”.

Rishi Negi (X C) – Shastri House, on the song “Raag Yaman”.

Vibhuti Gupta (XII B) - Bose house, on the song “Raag Bhupali”.

The second round was the Duet singing round, in which the following students performed:

Vasu Goel (VIII A) AND Tanvi Manglani (VII A) – Tilak House on the bhajan, “Radhe Govind Krishna Murari”.

Ishika ( VII B) and Vedant (VII B) – Shastri House on the bhajan, Achyutam Keshavam.

Anik Raghav (VII C) and Sejal Kumar (IX A)- Bose House on the bhajan, “Hey Ram”.

Shriyansh Vashisth(VII C) and Bhavika Shri Prasanna (VII A) on “Saraswati Vandana: Veena ke Madhurim Taaron Se”              

The last round was the Group singing round in which the performances were as follows:

The students of Shastri House sang the song “Aashayein”.

The students of Tilak House sang the song “Hai Junoon”.

Bose house performed the song “Badal Pe Paon Hai”.

Tagore House students sang the song “Hai Junoon”.

After the competition was over our respected principal ma’am Mrs. Nair came forward and praised the students and the teachers for their brilliant performances. She motivated them to do better. She also appreciated the choice of the songs. Then she declared the results that were as follows:

In the solo singing category, Bose House secured the first position. The second position went to Tilak House. Shastri House stood on third position, leaving Tagore House on fourth position.

In the duet category, the first position was won by Tilak House, second position by Tagore House, third position by Bose house and the last position went to Shastri house.

In the group singing category, Bose House bagged the first position. The second position went to Tagore House and Shastri House, and the third position went to Tilak house.

    Inter House Dance Competition (2022-23)

    Dancers do not need wings to fly. They express their feelings through the graceful moves of dance. With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students, an Inter House Dance Competition was organized on 12th May’22. The judges: Mrs. Suryalaxmi, Mrs. Yogjyoti Rohatgi, and Mr. Sagar were welcomed with a huge round of applause.

    Dance helps children to work in perfect unison. Arwachinians are real stars who shine on the stage when they start dancing. To give a perfect platform to the young learners to perform, an inter house Dance Competition is held every year. The students of classes 6-8 showcased a plethora of dance forms ranging from Indian Classical dance to Fusion Dance. The audience were mesmerized with the different dance styles. All the four houses gave their hundred percent.  The participants captured the attention of the audience. The audience as well as the panel of judges:  Mrs. S, Mrs. Yogjyoti Rohatgi, Mr. Dilip Sagar were fully engrossed in the programme. The result of the Competition is as follows:

    Our honourable Director Mr. Sharma appreciated the participants and lauded their efforts. Our Principal, Mrs Swapna Nair, congratulated all the participants for their confidence and also congratulated the teacher in charge, Mrs. Lochan Tulsi, for putting up such a beautiful show. The event was concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

      STATE LEVEL CULTURAL COMPETITION 2021-22

      STATE LEVEL CULTURAL  COMPETITION 2021-22

       Students of Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden made it to various State level Competitions organized by the Directorate of Education , Delhi after winning the zonal and District level in which Kabir Bhutani  and Khushal Sharma of Class VIII bagged the first position in English Debate (Junior Boys Catagory), Navya Narula of class VII ( Junior Girls)  secured the second position in Hindi Poem Recitation, Vasu Goyal Class VII and Tanvi Manglani Class VI  (Junior Boys & Girls) bagged the third position  in the State Level Light singing competition. All the winners were awarded with a cash prize, medal and certificate.

      A proud moment for the school!

        REPORT ON PICHWAYI FOLK ART

        Spic Macay organized a workshop on Pichwayi Folk art on 8th May 2022.This workshop was attended by Ms.Soma Das and Mrs.Deeba Rukhsar

        The artist of the day was Mr. KalyanmalSahu. He is a national award winner artist. Mr.Sahu was well versed with details of Minature painting especially Rajasthani and Mughal School. He gave a detailed information of Nathdwara painting. It mainly belongs to Rajasthan and the paintings are dedicated to Srinathji and life stories of Lord Krishna.  

        He also demonstrated how natural colours and canvas are made for miniature painting.

        He gave a demonstration of miniature painting with a Gopi’s figure in the centre.

        It was really a great learning experience.

          -(Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa)

          The screening of Rashomon by Akiro Kurosawa which was organised by the Spic Macay Foundation which was attended by The Heritage Club and teachers of Library and Computer Department on 6th May 2022.The film emphasised that there is no absolute truth in life and perspectives of people can be very different as was shown by an incident which took place  in the movie and the screening was followed by an interactive discussion on the movie by filmmaker Nandan Khudyadi  which was very interesting as he pointed out the change needed in women’s status in a patriachial society as depicted in the film.

            PATTACHITRA SCROLL PAINTING SESSION

            PATTACHITRA SCROLL PAINTING SESSION

            BYSHRI RAHIM AND JAHURAN CHITRAKAR

            SPIC MACAY organized a live session on Pattachitra, a traditional cloth based scroll painting of Naya village in Pingla , West Bengal. on 1st May 2022. It was supported by Ananta Bajaj Foundation ,SRF foundation and Lal family foundation. Ms. Soma & Mrs. Deeba attended this session.

            Shri Rahim and his wife Jahuranwere  the artists of the day. They have been painting and singing stories on Hindu mythology and folk tales .Goddess Durga is one of there favourite subject paintings  accompanied by narrative songs , making them painters ,lyricists and singers all at the same time.

            They made a beautiful scroll painting of fish marriage, which narrates the wedding event of a fishwith designer frame by using paint colours. It was interesting to see them paint. This workshop motivated all the attendees to learn, explore , grow and develop the pattachitra skills.
