JAPANESE LANGUAGE WORKSHOP
The first offline Japanese language workshop for the year 2022-23 was held at the Japan Foundation, New Delhi (JFND) on 30th July. It was conducted by Japanese language School Teachers’ Association (JALSTA) in collaboration with JFND.
The objectives of the workshop were:
• Feedback of the First Japan Olympiad and announcement of the Second Olympiad
• Introduction of Teacher training courses (TTC) under the aegis of Govt. of India and Govt. of Japan
• Discussion on upcoming events organized by JALSTA and JFND.
In the beginning of the session, the participating teachers gave the detailed feedback for the first Japan Olympiad held last year. It was followed by the presentation by Ms. Suzuki, Japanese language advisor, JFND. She discussed the date, topics and the strategies to make questions for the upcoming Olympiad. An interesting and refreshing Kahoot quiz was also conducted by Ms. Suzuki. She emphasized on maintaining high standard of Olympiad and assure maximum participation of the students of Classes 5 and 6 this year as well.
Ms. Suzuki also shared about Teacher training courses (TTC) organized by Govt. of India and Japan. She highlighted on TTC –B, which is a 12 hour in- service training course for the Japanese language school teachers.
Furthermore, Ms. Suzuki along with the JALSTA teachers planned several Japanese language events for our students to enable them to grasp the language through experiential learning.
The Japanese language teacher of the school Mrs. Vandana Jain attended the workshop and gave her inputs in various discussions.
