Debate Competition (Classes 7-11)

DEBATE COMPTITION (Classes 7 to 11 )

The Inter-house Debate Competition for classes 7 to 11 was held on 29th July, 2013.Classes 7 and 8 debated  the topic “cell phones should be allowed in schools”. And for classes 9,10 and 11 the topic was “One Child Norm” should be implemented in India”. And as soon as the competition started, the hall that had been hitherto agog with murmurs, whispers, giggles and smothered laughter fell silent turning its attention to what was happening on the stage. Everyone else in the hall was surprised by the enthusiasm with which all the speakers debated and argued their stand eloquently.. They all answered every query in the rebuttal round with utter promptness and confidence. As  all the debaters gave their best, it was a cut throat competition. The judges later mentioned that there are winners and runner ups only because this was a competition. As per the judges  everybody was great and the confidence, debating skills, promptness and the arguments  that  the debaters put forth while speaking were remarkable. For classes 7 and 8, the speakers  against the motion  won . On the other hand the speakers for the motion won very convincingly. They strongly supported One child norm in India suggesting how this would not only bring down the unmanageable population but also solve other related problems like poverty, unemployment, illiteracy,  lack of housing  etc.

NATIONAL MUSEUM REPORT (Classes VI and VII)

A VISIT TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM (CLASSES VI AND VII)

      DATE: 18TH JULY 2013

On 18th July 2013, the students of classes VI and VII of Arwachin International School had a golden opportunity to visit the National Museum, New Delhi which is one of the largest museums of India. The excursion was organized by HT PACE.

The students started from the school at 8:00 am and reached there by 10:00 am. It was a thrilling experience for them to see different varieties of articles ranging from the pre-historic era to the latest modern work of art. The entire museum has been divided into many sections. Each section has different exhibits. The students were thrilled to see the relics and remains of the ancient statues, coins, arms and weapons, household articles used during the Harappa and Mohenjodaro civilization and many more things. It was also a pleasure for them to see the beautiful paintings which depicted the lives of Lord Rama, Krishna and Lord Buddha. The military equipments displayed there of the different periods of history instilled a sense of pride in the students. The entire museum displayed the whole gamut of India’s life and literature.

After the students had enriched themselves with the knowledge of the past, they went to the auditorium to see two documentary films on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

The visit to the National Museum was a great source of Knowledge, Learning and Experience for the students.

A VISIT TO THE HINDUSTAN PRESS

A VISIT TO THE HINDUSTAN PRESS

On 16th July’13, the Arwachinians had a life-long experience when they set their feet in the premises of Hindustan Times Press, Noida. The visit was organized by HT Pace, in collaboration with our school, which aimed to cognize the students with the newspaper printing technologies and techniques, which surely left them flabbergasted, all the more urging them to discover the place and the arcane functioning of the machine. Our alacrity was on the zenith of explosion. The way the blank paper was printed bilaterally within milliseconds and the way they compiled themselves was worth appreciating. One of the workers accosted us and gave us a round-about guide on how the machines worked, which colors they used, how the number of newspapers were counted and just so much. The acute visit did actually spell a chronic magic on each one of us, as the experience would stay embedded in our cores forever. The visit inspired us to appreciate the biggest and the most beautiful gift mankind can ever have- the intelligence to create machines and use them for themselves.
