        NIHONGO Partners’ Workshop at JFND

An enriching workshop was organized under the NIHONGO Partners Programme on 10th January 2026 at the Japan Foundation, New Delhi (JFND). The sessions aimed to deepen the  understanding of the participants in  Japanese language and culture through interactive and experiential learning.

The morning session titled ‘Discover the Flavors of Japan’, was conducted by Ms. Hamauchi Kaoru. The workshop introduced participants to various aspects of Japanese food culture, highlighting the cultural significance of Japanese cuisine, eating manners, and food-related vocabulary. The session encouraged participants to view food as an important medium for cultural exchange and language learning.

The afternoon session titled ‘Let’s Play with Onomatopoeia’, was conducted by Mr. Kishi Hiroto, NIHONGO Partner from Arwachin International School. This hands-on session focused on Japanese onomatopoeia and demonstrated creative ways to teach them through games, movement, and classroom activities. The session clearly showed how onomatopoeia can enhance students’ expressive ability and make language learning enjoyable.

Mrs. Vandana Jain, Japanese Language teacher, participated in both the sessions. The ideas and activities shared during both the sessions will be extremely useful in classroom practice. They will help to create a more interactive, culturally rich, and learner-centered environment, encouraging students to develop both linguistic skills and cultural awareness.
