Educational Trip to Ambedkar Museum

Arwachin International School organised an educational trip to Ambedkar Museum for classes VI-VIII on 25th September, 2025 to enhance students’ understanding of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s life, his role in framing the Indian Constitution, and his contributions to social justice. Students first encountered the museum’s unique architecture, which resembles an open book symbolizing the Constitution, and were welcomed by a robotic statue of Dr. Ambedkar that spoke using his original voice recordings.

Throughout the visit, they explored interactive exhibits detailing Ambedkar’s childhood, education, fight against discrimination, and leadership in the constitutional assembly, featuring touch displays, and immersive projection mapping. The Meditation Hall and the display of original Constitution pages provided further insight into Ambedkar’s turn towards Buddhism and his pivotal parliamentary moments. A quiz organized by the museum engaged students actively, reinforcing their learning about Ambedkar’s vision for equality, women’s rights, and social transformation. The trip provided profound insights, helping students appreciate Ambedkar’s sacrifices and achievements, and proved to be a memorable and valuable educational experience for all interested in Indian history and social justice.

                Interactive Assembly

A lively and interactive assembly on the theme “Safety” was conducted by the students of LKG-Aster on 15th September 2025. The program began with a warm welcome, followed by the thought of the Day and a short news update.

We believe it's never too early to teach children the importance of staying safe at home and on the road. Children learned simple safety rules like not touching sharp objects, staying away from fire and electricity and keeping toys in places at home. They also understood the importance of following traffic signals, while walking on the footpath and crossing the road carefully with an elder. To make learning fun, the children performed role plays as pedestrians, drivers and traffic police and presented dances with safety messages. On the whole the assembly helped children learn safety in an enjoyable way while spreading awareness among all.

The programme was made interactive with questions and answers with the kids and a fun quiz.

Project MATE (Mind Activation Through Education) by AIIMS and CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, inaugurated the Project MATE (Mind Activation Through Education) training programme on 26th August 2025 at AIIMS, New Delhi.

The programme brought together nearly 50 school counselors and wellness teachers from CBSE schools across the Delhi-NCR region. Our school counselor, Mrs. Aafreen Sarfaraz was selected to attend this training by the CBSE. This pioneering initiative, developed at AIIMS Delhi, focuses on adolescent wellness, aiming to enhance resilience, build coping strategies, and foster meaningful peer connections through the innovative concept of “MATE-5.”

The training was inaugurated in the presence of eminent dignitaries including Prof. Dr. M. Srinivas (Director, AIIMS), Shri Rahul Singh, IAS (Chairperson, CBSE), Shri Himanshu Gupta, IAS (Secretary, CBSE), Prof. Dr. K.K. Verma (Dean Academics, AIIMS) and Prof. Dr. Nand Kumar (Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS). Their insights on the importance of integrating education and health, building resilience, and normalizing mental health in schools set a strong foundation for the week-long sessions.

Over the five days, she engaged in interactive workshops and discussions facilitated by experts from psychiatry, psychology, and communication. The training covered a wide range of themes such as:

                    • The bio-psycho-social model of health
                    • Resilience building and coping strategies for adolescents
                    • Anxiety management techniques
                    • Parental sensitization and family roles
                    • Nutrition and lifestyle awareness
                    • Peer support systems through the concept of MATE-5

One of the most valuable aspects of the programme was the emphasis on creating safe and supportive environments for students where mental health is treated as an integral part of overall health. The sessions highlighted the need to address loneliness, stress, digital challenges, and emotional disconnection among today’s youth with structured, positive interventions.

As a counselor, this experience was enriching and empowering. The strategies and tools shared during the programme will greatly enhance the ability to support students in developing resilience, emotional well-being, and meaningful peer connections.

                            Under Nihongo Partners Program

We are pleased to share that after a long wait, the Long-term Nihongo Partners Program has been implemented at Arwachin International School. We extend a warm welcome to Mr. Kishi Hiroto, who has joined our school as the Nihongo Partner.

To ensure the effective implementation of the program, a Counterpart Teachers’ Training Session under the Nihongo Partners Program was organized by the Japan Foundation, New Delhi, on 10th September 2025. Ms. Vandana Jain and Ms. Mimansa Thapliyal (Japanese Language Counterparts, Arwachin International School) attended the session.

The session began with self-introduction of the Nihongo Partners and their counterparts, which helped to establish stronger collaboration and understanding between the two groups. Following this, Ms. Suzuki, Language Advisor, JFND, gave an orientation on Team Teaching (TT), highlighting the importance of preparing and sharing effective lesson plans for classroom practice.

Subsequently, the Nihongo Partners, together with their counterparts, prepared and presented a mock lesson, providing practical insights into lesson planning and classroom delivery.

It is expected that the learnings from this session will greatly contribute to more effective, engaging, and culturally enriched Japanese language teaching at Arwachin International School.

We sincerely thank the Japan Foundation, New Delhi, for organizing this training session and providing continuous support for the successful implementation of the Nihongo Partners Program.

                                    Teachers’ Day Celebration

Classes III to V celebrated Teachers’ Day in a very special way, a special activity was organized for these students. The aim of the activity was to encourage children to express their love, respect, and gratitude for their teachers in their own words.

Students were asked to write short “Gratitude Notes” dedicated to their teachers. They wrote heartfelt messages describing how their teachers guide them, support their learning, and inspire them to do better each day. Some students also decorated their notes with drawings, colorful borders, and thoughtful quotes. Some of them expressed their love to the teachers by reciting poem, performing dances and songs.

The activity created a joyful and emotional atmosphere as children shared their sincere feelings. Teachers felt deeply appreciated and motivated on receiving these notes, while students developed values of respect, thankfulness, and expression.

Overall, the activity was a great success as it not only strengthened the teacher–student bond but also helped children learn the importance of gratitude in life.

                                      World Ozone Day

The students of Class 10 B conducted the interactive assembly on the theme 'World Ozone Day' on 1st September 2025. The programme beautifully highlighted the importance of protecting the Ozone layer and reducing the use of harmful CFCs.

The assembly began with a short skit featuring the Ozone Layer and Mother Earth as chief guests, creatively enriched by characters inspired from the Kapil Sharma Show. It was followed by a graceful dance and a melodious solo song. The finale was a captivating Qawwali “Khatra Hai Khatra”, which won all hearts and delivered the message powerfully.

The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and the Principal, Mrs. Ruchira Bhatnagar. She appreciated the hard work and effort of the students and the Class Teacher, Dr. Anita Pandit and motivated them to take small steps to save our Mother Earth.
