Out students also learnt the Japanese art of paper folding i.e. Origami and made various things out of it. They also enjoyed the Japanese art of cloth wrapping called Furoshiki, which is a practical skill that comes handy in daily life.

A workshop on “Physics learning and teaching” was conducted by Prof. HC Verma from IIT Kanpur in association with “ANVESHIKA”-Indian Association of Physics teachers on 8th August 2015 at DLF School, Ghaziabad.  Prof. HC Verma’s expertise lies in his unique experimental approach of demonstrating complex Physics concepts through simple modules. Prof.Verma emphasized on the thought that learning of physics should take place in the classroom and Physics teaching should not be merely completing the syllabus. Teachers were taught to make the teaching of physics interesting with the help of various experiments which included topics like magnetic field of a toroid, Lorentz force, lens makers formula etc. One of the Physics teachers of school, Mrs. Sibal took part in the workshop and quoted that the workshop with a personality such as Prof. HC Verma had only doubled her knowledge. It was really a golden opportunity which our school got and Arwachin International School is looking forward to more and more workshops of such kind so that more and more teachers can enrich their knowledge with experts from different fields.

!8th August’15 saw a fire disaster mitigation drill organized for the senior students of Arwachin International School during the Clubs period. The school was paid a visit by some members of the fire department who taught the students as well as the teachers how to use fire extinguishers. They also taught the teachers and the students to recognize the different kinds of extinguishers to be used for different kinds of fire. It was an enriching as well as fascinating experience as many teachers and students tried their hands at the fire extinguishers. Our Principal Mrs Gracy Peter also witnessed the programme and appreciated the endeavour. We can now proudly say that we are now prepared to handle yet another kind of disaster. In retrospect; it also gave us an impression for life: that we are supposed to be the ones to put out our own fires.

“JAPAN ON CANVAS - 2015”. Twenty six   paintings were selected and sent under two categories  :

                                        1.    Age Limit   ( 8 Y – 9 Y )                  Theme – Spirit of Japan

                                        2.    Age Limit  ( 11 Y – 15 Y )               Theme – Buddhism in  Japan

It   was an excellent platform for the students to express their ideas and thoughts.

The participation in such competitions motivates the students to explore about Japan & Japanese culture.

We are looking forward for the results.
