Foundation Wing

As the Coordinator of the Foundation Wing, I'm delighted to share that our dedicated team works tirelessly to create a nurturing environment that fosters holistic development, creativity, and critical thinking. Here's an overview of our regular teaching methodology:

English: The subject forms the base of all the other subjects. Right from LKG our students are trained in Phonics. The focus is on the reading and writing of the language with ease. With hands-on experience provided at every stage—varying from the feel of the letter to the formation of vocabulary and understanding grammar concepts—children are encouraged to speak fluently and write effortlessly.

We build strong foundational concepts through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, making learning enjoyable and accessible. Each concept—whether in Mathematics, Hindi, or EVS—is taught through fun-filled activities, giving students wide exposure and live experience.

Hindi: Introduced in LKG, where learners are familiarized with letters orally. As students progress to UKG and Classes 1–2, Hindi is taught in a graded manner, building upon previously acquired skills. Through activities, games, and interactive sessions, students develop reading, writing, and speaking skills, ensuring a strong foundation in the language.

Third Language: French and Japanese are introduced in Class 1. Students can choose any one. Learning begins with oral concepts in Class 1, followed by a well-planned curriculum in Class 2.

Inclusivity/Diversity: Festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm. Children are exposed to different religions and are encouraged to participate in celebrations. Every child gets stage exposure and opportunities to perform, dance, and even host events.

Experiential Learning: We incorporate hands-on activities, experiments, and out-of-classroom setups to make learning engaging and effective.

Holistic Development: We focus beyond academics. Special periods are allocated for Dance, Music, Physical Education, Yoga, Computer, and Free Play to ensure overall development.

NEP 2020 Alignment: Our pedagogy aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, focusing on developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Cumulative Assessment: Students are assessed regularly without traditional pen-and-paper exams. Skills like reading, writing, listening, speaking, gross development, conceptual knowledge, and general etiquette are evaluated to promote holistic growth.

Parent-Teacher Engagement: Regular communication is maintained with parents. Events, open houses, and PTMs are organized to involve parents and even grandparents in the child’s learning journey.

By following these practices, we continue to nurture young minds and empower them to become lifelong learners.
