    Bhakti Sangeet Competition 


    An online Inter School Bhakti sangeet competition was organized by Green Fields Public School, Dilshad Garden on 26th December 2020. Many schools participated in the competition. Hansika Rohatgi of class 5C of Arwachin International School participated in the competition and sang a bhajan "Hey Govind" in Raag Yaman. It gives immense pleasure to announce that  she secured the 3rd position and was awarded with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs.2100.

      The Arwachin International School participated in Christmas Touch Tournament organised by Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club organised on December,25,2020.  Total 15 teams participated under the two  categories-U-14 Girls and Boys. In the category,U-14 Girls, four teams and in the category, U-18 boys, seven teams competed to grab the trophy. The  match was conducted in a restricted manner due to covid-19 protocol.

      It is a proud moment to announce that the  girls’ team brought laurels to the school by winning the trophy.  Pakhi from the winners team was declared best player in this category. The boys’ team bagged the second position in the match.

      The sportsmanship of the  participants enabled them to put their best foot forward and show their skills on the field. The tournament proved to be a winning moment over the ongoing pandemic.

        National Consumers' Rights Day

        National Consumers' Rights Day is observed in India annually on 24th December to spread awareness about a consumer's rights and needs. On this occasion Arwachin International School organized an online event ‘Cognizant’ to highlight the importance of consumer movement and the need to make every consumer more aware of their rights and responsibilities. Various Interschool Competitions such as ‘Act of Awareness’- Monoacting, ‘Post an Awareness'- Poster making and ‘Fad Spread’- Creating a meme, were held during this event. Many schools from all over Delhi participated enthusiastically in this event and also achieved various positions in the competitions.           The class-7 students of Arwachin International School  started their Friday morning by participating in the #FitIndiaCyclothon (virtual)in the presence of Mr Dinesh Chand Panay, PET of the school. The participants got connected on the virtual platform while performing various activities like cycling and running. The activity was enjoyed by all the students.

            CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME WITH TERIHA HIGH SCHOOL, FUKUOKA, JAPAN

            An online cultural exchange programme with Teriha High School, Fukuoka, Japan was organized by JALSTA in collaboration with WTOC (World through our Class room) on 17th December, 2020.

            Arwachin International school along with three other Indian schools were part of the programme.

            Dia Khurmi, Renuka Singh, Shreya Choudhary of Class 9 and Arpita Tiwari, Aarushi Aswal, Pratham Gupta of Class 10 along with their Japanese language teacher, Mrs. Vandana Jain participated in the programme which began with lively greetings and self- introduction of the students and the teachers as well. It was followed by beautiful presentations on India and the National capital-Delhi.

            The students of Teriha High School also showcased the fascinating aspects of Japan through their presentation ensued by an interactive Q / A session.

            The programme concluded with a photo session.

            It was a wonderful learning experience for our students. They presented and interacted in Japanese very confidently.

              An enlightening career talk on Civil Services was organised by Sewa Bharti in collaboration with Delhi police and Arwachin International School on December 13, 2020.

              The Chief Guest, Mr.Alok Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi along with two very promising women IPS officers, Ms. Shweta Chauhan (DCP, Recruitment,Delhi Police)and Ms.Urvija Goel(DCP, ECW, Delhi) aptly guided the students and parents regarding Exam pattern, subjects, preparation method,time management, work profile and answered all their queries related to it sharing their own experiences and challenges faced by them.

                On 11th December,20, Teachers from Arwachin International School,attended an online teachers training webinar organised by Macmillan Education titled Ed tech tools. Mrs Asllesha Thakur was the spokesperson.

                According to Mrs Asllesha Thakur ,Ed tech tools explains how they are useful in improving the way of teaching. Teachers are required to upgrade their  way of teaching. She interacted with the participants  in such a positive way that made the session interesting. She also discussed about the Pedagogy of teaching which focussed on the interaction to be deep and meaningful. She also stressed on student to student interaction.She also discussed about Pillars of pedagogy that are:-

                • Active learning
                • HOTS
                • Formative assessment

                These methods not only benefit students but also assist teachers in multiple ways.

                The session was very interactive and informative. It encouraged the teaching fraternity to use technology for the benefits of their learners.

                  VISIONAIR 2020 

                  Visionair 2020, An Inter-School Competition was conducted by Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir School from 1st December 2020 to 7th December 2020 for the students of Classes III to XII.
                  This year the theme of this event was GIFT- Going into the future together. There were different competitions which were organized to inspire and enlighten the students to think of the future we wish to build. 
                  Arwachin International School is proud to share that our students had participated in this competition with great enthusiasm and brought several laurels. The 1st and 2nd position holders will receive cash prize.

                  M E - Me An Entrepreneur- Dev Chandna (XII-C) and Sneha Mishra (XI-C) bagged the first position in the ‘Me an Entrepreneur – Business Plan Competition’. They presented a business model for a book exchange service cum Ed-Tech start-up called ‘Bookalicious’. This idea aimed at providing low cost educational implements to the underprivileged, along with combating issues of climate change and E-waste generation. 

                  Shloka Gaayan : On 5th of December 2020 , Harshini S.A participated in a Sanskrit Shloka Gaayan Virtual Online Competition. There were around 15 participants in the competition . Harshini had performed Shiv Stuti without music still she maintained all the grace and beauty of Sanskrit verses with correct pronunciation while giving beats using her hand in the competition. The pure classical South Indian touch of her voice enhanced the beauty of the words of Shiv Stuti in Sanskrit .The host teacher was truly mesmerized with her performance. She grabbed first position and some cash prize in that competition , her mentor was Mrs.Nidhi Sharma.

                  Vasu Goyal of 6A presented Saraswati Vandana - Ya Kundendu and grabbed 2nd position in Shloka Gaayan Competition. Vasu was trained by Mrs.Radha Sharma and Mrs.Yogjyoti Rohatgi.

                  Rates of the future : A mathematical competition, ‘ Rates Of The Future’, was conducted under Visionair 2020 on 2nd December 2020. The event was conducted in a Virtual Environment.
                  Our two students, Devika Arali of 9A and Harshit Jain of 10B participated as a team under the guidance of mentor Mrs. Neenu Handa and secured third position in the competition. They will be felicitated with the trophy and certificate.

                  Gimmickers: Achintya Tyagi a student of Arwachin International School, (Dilshad Garden) participated in GIMMICKERS competition which was about innovative science on 5th December and secured 2nd position in it. The competition was about the explanation of any prominent scientific discovery 
                  He explained about the discovery of safety glass and its uses. He first explained the history of safety glass, then demonstrated with the experiment and he ended his presentation with the uses of safety glass. He was extremely confident and fluent in his presentation. His performance was remarkable.

                  It was an wonderful experience for all the participants.

                    On 4.12.2020, Social Science deparment attended a webinar on “Engaging with the NEP in the Social Studies classroom” which was conducted by Dr. Tapasya Saha, teacher trainer and author of Social Studies textbooks.

                    The session focused on the following points :-

                    • Critical thinking
                    • Experiential learning
                    • Indian knowledge system
                    • Assessment

                     

                    Dr. Saha pointed towards the use of innovative teaching methods that should be used in class as it will get the students interested in the subject and will lead to fruitful learning.

                    She believes that assessment is the key to unlock learning. She discussed about the various tools of assessment that should be done to assess a child and that it should focus more on the different skills of the child.

                    The webinar also emaphasised on enhancing the skills of students and that they should get the freedom to learn at their own pace.

                    Overall, It was a very informative session. Dr. Saha gave some very useful tips on making a Social Studies classroom an effective one.
