 Picnic -2022

                                            “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.

 The Pre-Primary wing and class -1 of Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, went for the most awaited day of the year. They had their annual picnic at  PLAY BOX on 28th October 2022 and 29th October respectively. The children had a gala day. The situate of the place was very welcoming for our young ones. There were different types of swings and explorations to strive and to try their grips and grasp. The children enjoyed the slides and fun activities, which included net climbing, ball pool, build the house and DJ. Thereafter, the children were served with the lunch. They enjoyed and relished the same. The children danced on the DJ floor as well. All the students expressed their desire to visit the place again. Indeed it was a great day for all the students and the teachers, as it strengthened the bond between them. It was an amazing experience for the tiny tots. The day was well spent.

    153rd Bith Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

    "Happiness eludes us if we run after it. In fact, happiness comes only from within. It is not a commodity to be bought from outside."- Mahatma Gandhi

    Gandhi's birth anniversary is commemorated worldwide as the International Day of Non-Violence, highlighting his nonviolent approach to bringing about social or political change. To commemorate the occasion, numerous events are held throughout India and around the world. On the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a special commemorative program (Sarva Dharma Prarthana) was organized at Gandhi Smriti. This program was live telecasted on Doordarshan and All India Radio. The Hon'ble Prime Minister, Cabinet ministers, chief ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and people from different sections of the place of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi came to pay their rich tributes. In this program, more than twelve hundred students from 45 schools all over Delhi NCR participated. A team of 23 students from Arwachin International School got an opportunity to participate in this event. This team consisted of 16 singers and 7 instrumentalists.

      EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO IHM RIG

      The commerce and humanities students of class XI and XII were given the opportunity to visit the IHM RIG Institute of Hospitality and Management on the 21st of October in an open house session. They gained insight on different courses and subjects included under Hotel Management and were given hands on learning in the F&B branch, where the head chef demonstrated the making of Rigatoni Penne Pasta and a student was asked to volunteer to recreate the recipe. The students were able to explore their interests in the hotel management sector throughout the trip, and enjoyed the experience thoroughly.

        Tarang, an Art and Culture Fest was organized by St. Thomas School, Ghaziabad on 21st October 2022. Chitraanjali and Nrityanjali were the two main events of the fest.

         The students of Arwachin International School also participated in this mega event in both junior and senior categories. All the students performed really well.

        It's a proud moment to announce that Charan Kaur of XI-B bagged the First Runner up trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 3000/-.

          ‘Light a lamp of love!Blast a chain of sorrow!
          Shoot a rocket of prosperity! Fire a flowerpot of happiness!’

          The pre- primary wing of Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, celebrated Diwali special assembly on October 21, 2022. The feel of the occasion was set in motion with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Mrs. Ayushi Sharma. It was followed by astonishing performances by the children of LKG and UKG.

          An enchanting dance performance marked the beginning of the programme on the very gripping song “Aigiri Nandani”. It was followed by a short rhyme –“Happy Diwali”. After that a very energetic Hindi song was sung by the children – “Ram ji ki Nikli Sawari”. Next performance was a blast on the stage. It was a Dandiya Dance that left everyone dancing to the tune. That was followed by a short skit showcasing the very reason and rationale of the Festival. The skit left the audience, spell- bound. After the skit, a dance performance was presented on the song ‘Happy Diwali’. The most vigorous dance performance of the day on the song-“O! My friend Ganesha”, set the stage on fire.

          At the end,our Hon. Principal Mrs. Nair, Mrs. Ayushi Sharma appreciated the efforts of the tiny-tots and the teachers. The day was called off after the National Anthem.

            DIWALI CELEBRATION (2022-23)

            Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture and traditions. They are meant to share special moments in our lives with our loved ones. They serve the purpose of bringing happiness to our lives and strengthen our sense of community. To foster this idea, Arwachin International School celebrated festival of lights – Diwali with zest and fervor, on October 21, 2022 during a special assembly. The assembly commenced by welcoming the esteemed guest Mr. Satish Kumar and Mr. Rajan Kapoor by our beloved Principal Mrs. Nair and respected Mrs Ayushi Sharma. Thereafter we had the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by dignitaries

             The tiny tots of class UKG presented a marvelous skit  on Diwali. Next the students of classes 6 to 8 presented a drama depicting Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya. Nitisha, Devanshi and Arnav of class 7 recited a beautiful poem ‘Aayi Deepawali’ emphasizing the ways of celebrating the festival. After this melodious performance the esteemed guests, respected Principal Mrs. Nair and respected Mrs. Ayushi Sharma felicitated the academic toppers of class 10 and 12 of the sessions 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, the winners of Tug of War Nationals, Netball Nationals and the students who participated in Gandhi Smriti Programme and Hindustani Bhasha Programme.

            Next the students showcased their talent by singing a song ‘Aayi Diwali’ emphasizing the lightening of lamps, rejoicing and sharing lots of sweets on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. After this the students performed a medley of bhajans. Last but not the least there was an exquisite dance performance on medley of songs invoking and praising Lord Ganesha- the god of intellect and wisdom.

            The assembly concluded with Mrs. Nair’s valuable and enlightening words. She made students aware about the importance of understanding the essence of the festivals. She also applauded the effort of the teachers and the students.

              On 21st October 2022 ,the Department of Environment, on the occasion of Diwali organised an event 'Diye Jalao, Patakhe Nahi' at Rajiv Chowk , Central Park in Connaught Place between 6 to 8 p.m. The program mme was held in the gracious presence of our honorable Delhi Environment minister, Shri Gopal Rai, who was the Chief Guest of the programme.

              The Eco club in- charges from different schools in Delhi attended this programme. Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, Delhi was represented by the Eco Club teachers Mrs Rachna Kaur and Ms. Surbhi Sareen.

              Sri Gopal Rai stated that Diwali is the festival of lights and the lighted diyas not only illuminate the environment but also brings happiness to all. But at the same time the festival is becoming one of the major problems for the environment due to the bursting of the crackers. It’s high time to say ‘NO’ to crackers.

              He requested the cooperation of all the people to make this Diwali pollution free and took a pledge along with all the teachers of Eco Club to create awareness regarding ill effects of bursting crackers and celebrating Diwali in eco friendly manner.

                FIRE & EARTHQUAKE SAFETY DEMONSTRATION

                On 20th October, during the morning assembly, the students were given awareness on how to ensure safety in case a fire or an earthquake occurs. They were explained the procedure of evacuation during such emergencies and were also given a live demonstration on how different kinds of fires can be put out using specific fire extinguishers that are placed at various locations in the school premises. The demonstrations of putting out a Class A fire using a Water and Foam extinguisher, and a Class B fire using a Wet Chemical extinguisher were done by the teachers, maintaining the necessary safety precautions. Some students were also called forth to use the fire extinguishers and put out the fires, to get a hands-on experience. The students found the experience extremely informative.

                   Arwachin International School organized an Inter House GK Quiz for Classes 1 to 5 on October 19, 2022. The participants of each class gave a tough competition to each other. They had to go through different mind boggling rounds consisting of questions and audio visuals related to current affairs, science, mathematics, sports, and many more. Tilak house won the quiz with 410 points and secured the first position.                     TRAINING FOR PREVENTION OF VECTOR BORNE DISEASES

                    A training programme for sensitization of Nodal Teachers of GNCTD & Private Schools of Shahdara (South) Zone was organized by the Public Health Department, Shahdara (South) Zone on 19th October 2022 at Udyog Sadan, Delhi for raising community awareness for prevention and control of Dengue & Malaria and other Vector Borne Diseases. The programme was attended by Mrs Joycee Josel of Arwachin International School .

                    The participants were made aware of the prevention and control of Vector borne diseases such as  Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya which pose a major public health challenge. The participants were also taught about source reduction which is the only effective means for prevention of mosquito breeding and for control of these diseases.

                    The programme made the particiapznts feel more responsible for implementation of activities pertaining to prevention and control of Vector borne diseases.

                      "The Happiness classroom is about developing an environment that looks after the whole child and helps them build strategies to feel happier about all aspects of their lives."

                         CBSE provides every teacher a perfect platform to enhance his / her skills by organizing various workshops or seminars. On October 19, 2022 a workshop covering the most important topic – Happy classroom, was conducted by CBSE with Mrs. Monica Banga as the resource person . Mrs. Shuchi Kaushik and Ms Poonam Batra from Arwachin International School got this opportunity to attend the workshop.

                         The resource person started the session with an activity. Who am I? It was divided into three segments - 1.Happy teacher creates happy classroom.

                      2.Exploring the classroom.

                      3. Strategies.

                      She highlighted the real meanings of happiness because if we are happy from within , only then we can spread happiness around us.  She discussed self awareness, self management, relationship management and social awareness. She discussed the importance of emotional intelligence (EI) and she discussed the vicious cycle of self doubts.  She discussed ways to foster happiness in the classroom like- Choice and voice, culture of thinking and innovation, mindfulness, storytelling etc  . She clarified the importance of mindfulness. At last with many activities and  examples she explained the importance of happiness class.

                        Overall, it was a great experience and enhanced their competencies to plan better, to create a healthy environment in the School and build a strong relationship with the students.

                          NATIONAL MIXED NETBALL COMPETITION 2022-23

                          Continuous hard work and days of practice put in by the senior and junior team of ARWACHIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL made them capable enough to represent Delhi Team in the MIXED NETBALL NATIONALS  held from 15th – 17th October 2022. The competitive spirit among the players and continuous guidance by the coaches helped them pave their way through the competition. Winning one match after the other, both the teams represented Delhi in the SEMI-FINALS, and secured the third position all over India. The participants came back not only with a trophy in hand but also with immense learning and improvement. This Victory is a matter of prestige for the team as well as Arwachinians.  The Members of both the team are as follows:-

                            Black Belt Grading was held on 16th October 2022 in Talkatora Indoor Stadium.The grading was conducted by Traditional Karate Council of India. The examiner was Sensei  Justo Gomej 7 Dan ,7 times World ChampionMr. Ishwar Thapa of Arwachin International School  participated in it.The participants were told to perform Kata and attacking-defensing skills.On the basis of the performance along with proper breathing skills,all the participants were evaluated. Mr. Ishwar Thapa was awarded with Black Belt 3rd Dan International certificate by Sensei Justo in the grading.

                                                                            LKG FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

                              ‘Fancy dress encourages children to express their point of view of the world around them. It helps to build both large and fine motor skills, decision making skills, encourages empathy and assists in the overall emotional development of children.’

                              The L.K.G children of Arwachin International School participated in a FANCY DRESS COMPETITION  on 14th October 2022 to enhance their creativity, imagination and to build their confidence. The students participated in huge numbers and showcased their versatility. The theme of the competition was Things we need to keep our body clean/ Fairy tale characters.’ The honorable judges were Mrs. Ayushi Sharma, Ms. Natasha Sharma and Mrs. Bhawna Verma . Mrs. Nair added grace to the occasion with her presence. The children came dressed up according to the given theme. They introduced themselves and also spoke a few sentences about what they represented.What matters most in such events is not winning or losing, but participation. The objective of the competition was met, as the students learned about hygiene, things we need for keeping clean and enjoyed the characters from Fairy Tales. It helped to build their English conversational skills and self confidence as well. 

                               Watching the tiny –tots dressed up smartly, was such a treat. The results were as follows:

                                KARATE TECHNICAL SEMINAR  & NATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

                                Karate Technical Seminar and National Karate Championship were held on 12th to 16th October in Talkatora Indoor Stadium, Delhi. This event was organized by Traditional Karate Council of India under the supervision of Sensei Justo Gomez 7 Dan,7 times world champion.Three hundred students and coaches from Delhi,Chennai,Tamil Nadu,Andhra Pradesh,Uttrakhand,West Bengal,Jharkhand,Bihar,Uttar Pradesh and other states participated in the same. Thirty four  students from Arwachin International School participated in the seminar and competition.Sensei Justo taught how to deliver the tecniques effectively with proper breathing and  maintaing the distance.He trained them  about the safety measures to be taken during the Karate competition. There were events like Individual Kumite,Individual Kata and Team Kata in Championship which were classified according to the age group of the participants. The referees were Sensei Jitesh , Sensei  Ishwar Thapa , Sensei  Rajesh Singh, Sensei  Mani,Sensei Gopal and Sensei Manoj . Pratishtha Mishra of class 10A won 2 Bronze medals and Divyanshu Anand of class 9B won 1 Bronze medal.The seminar was a wonderful exposure for the students.

                                    HAIKU AWARD CEREMONY BY JAPAN AIRLINES

                                    A team of two students along with their Japanese Language Teacher, Mrs. Vandana Jain and JICA Volunteer, Mr. Okamoto Rei attended the Award Distribution Ceremonywhich was held on 12th October, 2022 at the Japan Foundation, Delhi. It was conducted by Japan Airlines for felicitating the winners of the 17th World Children’s Haiku Contest 2021-22, organized by the JAL Foundation.The event was also attended by Mrs.Swapna Nair, Principal, Arwachin International School.

                                    The event commenced with the introduction of world renowned Japanese poem ‘haiku’, followed by an interesting quiz based on Japan & its culture. Thereafter, the winners were declared.

                                    Mr. Yoshida Koji, Counsellor (PR and Culture), Embassy of Japan in India and Mr. Koji Sato, Director General, JFND selected the winners among 84 entries. Khushal Sharma of Class 9A received the Grand Prize Winner Award and Sanyam Arora of Class 8A bagged JAL Prize Winner Award.

                                    Mr. Shinya Naruse, Vice- President& Regional Manager, JAL Airlines presented the vote of thanks at the end of the event, followed by a group photograph.

                                    Our special thanks to the officials of JAL Airlines for organizing such a wonderful event which is really helpful for motivating students to learn about Japan, its language and culture.

                                      The science students of class XI and XII visited the Delhi Technological University on 11th Oct in an open house programme. They gained and explored their interest in different streams of engineering and got an opportunity of hands-on experience of different laboratories, computer centre, sports complex library and exhibition exhibited by the engineering students of DTU. Students were very excited during their visit to DTU and they thoroughly enjoyed this educational tour.

                                        ‘Although perceived as a mere fun activity, fancy dress is of great benefit to children especially for the tiny tots and for children that are in the foundational years of building their imagination and vocabulary.’

                                        The U.K.G children of Arwachin International School participated in a FANCY DRESS COMPETITION ON 7th October 2022 to enhance their creativity, imagination and to build their confidence. The students participated in huge numbers and showcased their versatility. The theme of the competition was ‘Kitchen Objects/ Classroom Objects. The honorable judges were Mrs. Ayushi Sharma, Ms. Natasha Sharma, and Mrs. Lochan . The children came dressed up according to the given to theme. They introduced themselves and also spoke a few sentences about what they represented.What matters most in such events is not winning or losing, but participation.

                                        The objective of the competition was met, as the students learned about different kitchen gadgets and classroom objects. It helped to build their English conversational skills. 

                                         Watching the tiny –tots dressed up smartly was such a treat.The results were as follows:

                                          On 30 September,22, the Primary wing of Arwachin International School celebrated Dusshera and Gandhi Jayanti. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by a series of wonderful presentations by the students.

                                          First Aarav Batra of 4C shared famous slogans and principles of Gandhiji. Followed by a skit by the students of class 2, depicting the journey of Gandhiji’s life and his contribution towards India’s independence. Manya of 4C enlightened everyone with some very important information about Gandhiji. After this a wonderful song was sung by the students of class 4 and 5. The famous song ‘De Dee Hume Azaadi…’ left the audience spell-bound.

                                          A wonderful dance drama on Dusshera was presented by the students of classes 1 to 5. They depicted the importance of the victory of good over evil and it was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience followed by a foot tapping instrumental presentation on the song-‘Hey Ram..’ by the students of classes 3-5. The series of events came to an end with a beautiful dance performance by the students of class 3 to 5 on ‘Ram Stuti’. The audience was mesmerized.

                                          At the end, Mrs. Nair, Principal, AIS and Mrs. Ayushi Sharma, appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers and ended the programme with a message to develop the virtue of goodness.

                                            WORKSHOP ON PREVENTION OF DRUG ABUSE IN ADOLESCENTS & YOUTH

                                            A workshop on prevention of drug abuse in adolescents & youth was organized by the District Administration, Shahdara, which was attended by Mrs. Aafreen Sarfaraz along with the Counsellors and HOS of various reputed schools of Delhi. The workshop was organised in association with the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Society for Promotion of Youth & Masses (SPYM) and the Vishwa Karma Educational Society on October 7, 2022.

                                            The District Magistrate, Shahdara, Ms. Patil Pranjal Lahensingh was the chief guest on the occasion. Other esteemed speakers for the event were Dr. Shruti and Dr. Manoj, Professors of Psychiatry from IHBAS, Dr. Rajesh from SPYM and Mr. Nirmal Dhaka, Intelligence Officer from Narcotics Control Bureau.

                                            The workshop aimed at sensitising the teachers about the various drugs and its consumption habits by the adolescents and youth of today. By sensitising teachers about these issues, the aim was to identify and help school going teenagers who indulge in these habits, guide and rehabilitate them. Common psychological issues with drug dependence were explained to help the participants understand why a teenager starts becoming dependent on drugs and other substances. The triggers of drug dependency were explained in terms of their bio-psycho-social causes.

                                            All the participants were informed about how important their role is in trying to curb this habit which is affecting the youth of our country and destroying the next generation.

                                                ‘India is known as land of festivals and celebrations, Dussehra is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance’.

                                                Festivals are the period of celebration and bring peace and joy for everyone.To enhance that among our children, Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden celebrated Dussehra by burning the effigy of Ravana. The children were very excited and delighted to see the effigy. The chief guest of the event were our Honourable Principal madam, Mrs.Swapna Nair and Mrs. Aayushi Sharma. The children of UKG to class 2 wrote their one bad habit on a piece of paper and it was burnt along with the effigy of Ravana. The ground echoed with the chanting of ‘Jai Shri Ram.
