                            2. Teachers know what needs to be accomplished.
                            3. It promotes the acquisition of skills and competencies.

Along with this, the resource person also listed some skills/competencies which need to be included in learning outcomes like collaboration, communication, creative thinking, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, developing curiosity, developing scientific skills with examples.

At the end, hesaid that good learning outcomes emphasize the application and integration of knowledge. Instead of focusing on coverage of material, learning outcomes should articulate how students will be able to employ the material, both inside and outside the class. This was followed by a questionnaire on the whole session. Overall, it was a very informative and interactive session.

                                          • Ethics
                                          • Cultural norms

                                            Webinar on Stress Management Techniques

On 9th September 21, an online training was conducted for teachers. It was organised by CBSE and the topic was ‘Stress Management Techniques’. Mrs. MaheshwariNatrajan was the resource person. It was attended by Ms. Natasha Sharma and Mrs. Rumela Roy.

The session began by describing stress and the two types of stress-

                                            1. Eustress (good) and  Distress (bad)
                                            2. Intrinsic (within) and Extrinsic (external)

Ms. Natrajan further elaborated the causes of stress in one’s life. It may vary from a loss of job, a divorce, heavy workload at office, insecurity,  poor financial condition, chronic illness or even poor decision making power. However the most common stressors are-

                                            1. Fear and uncertainty
                                            2. Attitudes and perception
                                            3. Unrealistic expectations (from self, management, colleagues, students and family/friends)
                                            4. Change

She further discussed  the major stress management principles-

                                            1. Self knowledge
                                            2. Self acceptance and self confidence.
                                            3. Tolerance for discomfort and frustration
                                            4. Moderation
                                            5. Emotional and behavioral responsibility
                                            6. Flexibility

According to Ms. Natrajan ‘Self care’ is a mantra that must be followed by all. One can further de-stress in the following ways-

                                            1. Going for a movie with friends, chats and outings, cleaning shelves and cupboards.
                                            2. Temporarily moving away from the cause of stress
                                            3. Meditation
                                            4. A definite ‘NO’ to overeating (especially sugary and oily food)

Overall it was a very interactive and fun session. It ended with a short assessment and a huge take- away of information.
