REPORT ON WORKSHOP ON BLOOM'S TAXONOMY
“Benjamin Bloom created a taxonomy of measurable verbs to help us describe and classify observable knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviors and abilities.”
A workshop on the topic ‘Bloom's Taxonomy' was conducted by Ms. Neha Sood on June 29, 2024, at Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, East Delhi.
The training was about understanding the effectiveness of the hierarchy of thinking in the process of learning and thinking. The workshop was effectual in helping us see the growth of the learning and learner from abstract to concrete.
The prime take away of the workshop was that, ‘education, as a process and as an end, should be able to enable an individual to expose to creativity’. And the workshop proved that the ultimate aim of Bloom’s Taxonomy is very surreal in this context. All the levels/ domains and steps were so well explained that if it is well planned and followed in the class, the ultimate aim of creativity becomes but obvious.
Having explained the three domains of learning i.e. Cognitive, Affective and Psycho Motor Domain, she indulged the teachers in group learning activity to identify effective teaching strategies.
On the whole, it was an enriching experience as the teachers were appreciative of the usage of Bloom's Taxonomy in classrooms.
