REPORT ON WORLD ZOONOSIS DAY CELEBRATION

World Zoonosis Day was celebrated in Classes 1 and 2 with great enthusiasm and awareness on the importance of preventing zoonotic diseases – diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans. The day aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and compassion towards animals among young students.

To begin with, teachers presented an engaging and informative video in the classrooms. The video helped students understand what zoonotic diseases are and how simple actions like maintaining hygiene, vaccinating pets, and treating animals with care can help prevent them. The video was age-appropriate, and the students showed keen interest in the topic.

Following the video, an interactive discussion was held in each class. Teachers encouraged students to share their thoughts and experiences related to pets and animals. Many students enthusiastically spoke about their pet dogs, cats, and birds, showing a growing awareness of the importance of caring for animals responsibly.

To conclude the day with a joyful learning experience, the students participated in a lively dance activity on the song "I Am a Pet Hero." The upbeat song and fun choreography reinforced the theme of animal care and responsibility. The children thoroughly enjoyed the dance and proudly called themselves “Pet Heroes.”

The celebration successfully combined education with fun, leaving the young learners more informed, compassionate, and inspired to treat animals with love and care.

The workshop further addressed the importance of environmental education in shaping responsible citizens. Dr. Koul discussed few methods to create awareness among students, such as conducting poster and slogan-making competitions, engaging in cleanliness drives and plantation programs and incorporating environmental topics into the school curriculum.

In conclusion, the workshop was a successful initiative that emphasized the need for environmental responsibility and equipped participants with the knowledge and tools to contribute positively to conservation efforts.

                                            Van Mahotsav Celebration

The students of Class XI A organized an interactive assembly to celebrate Van Mahotsav, the annual tree-planting festival in India that highlights the importance of forests and environmental conservation on 4th July 2025. The event was held with great enthusiasm and conveyed a strong message about protecting nature and fostering a greener future.

The programme began with a short talk on Forest Therapy delivered by the students. The audience was introduced to the concept of "Shinrin-yoku" or "forest bathing," a practice gaining popularity worldwide for its health benefits.

Following this was a thought-provoking skit performed by the students, which highlighted the importance of tree plantation. Through their creative portrayal, the students showcased the consequences of deforestation and how planting trees can mitigate environmental issues. The skit ended on a hopeful note, urging everyone to take active steps toward greening their surroundings.

An interactive session by the Class Teacher Mr. Tripti added further depth to the assembly. She highlighted the contribution of Jadav Payeng, famously known as the Forest Man of India, who single-handedly planted an entire forest over several decades. The talk also touched upon the implications of climate change, emphasizing how rising temperatures, extreme weather, and shrinking green cover threaten our future.

The assembly concluded with an address by the Principal, who appreciated the efforts of the students in organizing such an insightful programme. She emphasized the ongoing relevance of Van Mahotsav and encouraged everyone to plant at least one tree and nurture it as a step toward environmental responsibility.

Overall, the Van Mahotsav assembly was both educational and inspiring, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of commitment towards nature conservation and the environment.

                                              Vanmahotsav Celebration

At Arwachin International School, we believe that nurturing a love for nature is just as important as academic learning. This year, from 1st to 4th July, we celebrated Vanmahotsav Week with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of purpose. The week was dedicated to helping our students connect with the environment and explore ways to care for our planet in meaningful, hands-on ways.

Our young eco-warriors from Classes III to V took part in a variety of fun, thoughtful activities that not only sparked their creativity but also planted the seeds of environmental responsibility.

Class III A – Plantation Drive

The week kicked off with Class III A leading a beautiful Plantation Drive. Each child brought a potted sapling from home, lovingly labelled with their name, and added it to a growing green patch on campus.

Class III B – Seed Belt Creation

Next came Class III B, who got their hands dirty in the best way during the Seed Belt Creation activity. Children brought a colorful mix of seeds—marigold, mustard, fenugreek, and coriander—from home. Together, they sowed them along a patch of the playground, creating a budding “seed belt” that promises to bloom into a vibrant, biodiverse space.

Class III C – Grow Your Own Microgreens

The students explored the magic of growing their own food with the Grow Your Own Microgreens activity. Working in small groups, students used trays, seeds, and basic materials to start their mini gardens. Watching those tiny green shoots sprout was more than just exciting—it taught them about healthy eating and the power of sustainable living.

Class IV – Poster Making: “Save the Plants”

The students expressed their love for trees through art. Armed with colours, ideas, and passion, the students created impactful posters and slogans around the theme “Save the Plants.” Their work reflected a deep understanding of how vital trees are to our planet—and the creativity to inspire others to care, too.

                                              Class V – Composting Activity

Finally, Class V took on the challenge of composting. They brought kitchen waste like fruit peels and tea leaves from home and learned how to turn it into nutrient-rich compost. This hands-on experience was a powerful reminder that recycling begins right at home—and even waste can give back to the Earth.

Throughout the week, it was truly inspiring to see the enthusiasm, curiosity, and care each student brought to these activities. The support of our parents played a key role in making this initiative such a resounding success—thank you for standing with us in growing a greener future.

Together, let’s keep encouraging our children to love, protect, and live in harmony with nature. After all, they are the stewards of tomorrow’s world.
