Gita ka Sandesh Contest

 Gita ka Sandesh Contest was organized by Ashok Singhal Foundation on 30th November 2018 in which 62 students of our school participated by sending their recorded videos.

They were highly appreciated by the judges and on 7th July 2019 they were awarded by the foundation at M2K Mall, Pitampura, Delhi.

Vibhuti Gupta of class 9A was adjudged one of the best participants for which she was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2100, a certificate, a medal and books. All other participants received an appreciation certificate.

The Sanskrit teacher of AIS, Mrs. Radha Sharma was also highly appreciated and awarded for encouraging her students for participating.

It was really an enriching experience for all.

    Mayoor School, Noida, held a ‘Reading Program’ to celebrate the occasion of ‘One Nation Reading Together’ event organized by Scholastic on 30th November, 2018. The students and teachers of various schools of Delhi and NCR were the part of this event. The students of Classes- 4 and 5 of Arwachin International School along with the teachers- Mrs. Rumela Roy and Mrs. Isha Pandit, participated in this insightful event.

    The famous children’s book author- Ms. Anupa Lal and the proficient story-teller Ms. Sonia Bareja were the honourable guests of the day.

    The event ushered with the reading pledge promoting the students to become avid readers. Ms. Anupa Lal answered the inquisitive questions asked by the students of various schools. She emphasized the importance of reading as the rising ladder to become an inspirational writer while sharing the thought-‘Life is froth and bubble. The two things that stand out are kindness in other’s struggle and courage in yours.’

    The questionnaire session was followed up by a story-telling session by the proficient story-teller Ms. Sonia Bareja. She took the children on an imaginative tour to the land of story books while telling the story of ‘Hatim Tai’.

    The event was a wonderful experience for the students and the teachers accompanied.

      On the 50th anniversary of MM Public School Smt Krishna Pathak Memorial fourteenth Inter school painting competition

      was organized at MM public school, Vasudha Enclave on 27th Nov 2018.

      The students of our school got a chance to be a part of this grand event and they secured positions too.

                        Tisha(XC) :-      First position painting competition

                        Pranshi,Priyamvada(IX-A)  :--  Second position in craft competition

                         Soumya,Priyank (XB)     :-      Third position in graffiti competition 

       It was a great learning experience for the budding artists as they got an opportunity  to express their vivid ideas and emotional responses to a particular subject.

        Inter school Meteopedia, Painting and Poster Making Competition

        On the occasion of the 144th IMD Foundation Day Celebration, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mausam Bhawan, Lodhi Road, Delhi organized various competitions on 26th and 27th Nov’18  under the categories : Meteopedia, Poster making and Painting competition to test the attention, understanding, memory retention and creativity of the students.

        The students of Arwachin International School were amongst the thirteen participating schools, who were a part of each competition held under the above mentioned categories. On 26th Nov, two students of classes 6th and 7th participated in the meteopedia competition and were shown two movie clips followed by the written questionnaire. Our students were ecstatic and competed well.

        Visiting IMD and being a part of the competition turned out to be a blissful experience for our students as they were graciously acknowledged with a participating certificate and a gift by the IMD authorities.

          WORKSHOP-SHAPING THE YOUNG MIND, HEART AND  HAND

          Education is a fundamental right  so there  should be quality education. Teachers are committed to nurturing learned, socially responsible and successful global citizens. To increase awareness about the critical role of value driven education and the needs for quality and authenticity Viva Education Private Limited organized a workshop for teachers  which was attended by  Mrs Rachna Kaur, Mrs Shruti Mishra, Mrs Leeja Srigil and Mrs Manisha Sen. It  was conducted on 24.11.18 at The Park, Connaught  Place. The main theme of the workshop was ‘ Shaping the young Mind, Heart  and Hand. It was conducted by Ms Avneet Kaur, founder of Bliss organization .She is a psychologist, motivational speaker and a life coach with various degrees from India and abroad. 200 teachers from Delhi-NCR participated in the workshop. The speakers enlightened the listeners through different sessions like –Smart learner- A concept, understanding the unique needs of young mind, multiple intelligences nurturing unique strengths and experimental learning. The session ended with a question answer session. The workshop helped the teachers to refine their skills and take teaching to the level of empowerment.

            Essay Writing Competition

            In an endeavour to sensitise students to environmental issues PACE invited our school to participate in the annual on the spot inter-school essay writing competition which was held in association with the National Museum of Natural History.

            The competition took place on 20th November, 2018 at Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Jor Bagh Road, New Delhi- 3. The theme of the competition was ‘Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources’ and it was held in two categories: Classes 4 & 5 in juniors and Classes 6, 7 & 8 in seniors.

            Kushal Shar of class 5-B took part in the junior category and Himani Goel of 7-B participated in the senior category. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore and express this very relevant theme as our world is facing issues of global warming.

              The Times NIE Knowledge Meet

              Times NIE, over the years, has worked hand-in-hand with educationists from the schools in and around Delhi NCR to deliver a vibrant and dynamic programme to its members.

              Every year, they reach out to the teaching fraternity through various platforms, exchange programmes and discuss thought provoking issues from the field of education. Once again Times NIE came together for an enlightening session at The Times NIE Teachers’ Knowledge Meet, 2018.

              This year the knowledge meet was organised in association with Kidzania.

              It was an interactive session with experts on issues related to the Role of Educators in Modern Era. It was held on 19th November, 2018 at Kidzania Entertainment city. Mrs. Priya Grover and Ms. Natasha Sharma represented Arwachin International School.

              The expert panel included people from various fields like education, film industry, journalism etc. They all emphasised on the use of technology in classrooms which has proved to be a game changer. They motivated the teaching fraternity to reskill and retool themselves so that they equip themselves to teach 21st century learners. After the discussion, the panellists took the queries of the audience.

              Kidzania organised some fun activities for the teachers like cookery show, Fashion show, quiz, Dance performance by Kidzania volunteers and also by the teachers. The winners were awarded the gifts. Lucky draw was also held at the end. The sponsors gifted generously.

              It was a day well spent at Kidzania. Teachers came back inspired and refreshed.

                Arwachinians participate in Admission and Study in Japan Session

                The Japanese language students of Classes 11 & 12, along with their Japanese language teacher, Mrs Jain, attended an interactive session on “Admission and Study in Japan” on 19th November 2018 at the Japan Foundation, Delhi. It was conducted by Ms Maki Ikeda from Japan.

                In the session, Ms Ikeda talked about the English-medium undergraduate programs being offered at the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.The main programs include:

                ·        Global Studies Major (College of International Relations – Kyoto)

                ·        Community and Regional Policy Studies Major

                (College of Policy Science – Osaka)

                ·        Information Systems Science and Engineering Course

                (College of Information Science and Engineering – Shiga)

                ·        Dual Degree Program with Australian National University

                (College of Global Liberal Arts – Osaka and Canberra)

                ·        American University and Ritsumeikan University Joint Degree Program

                (College of International Relations – Kyoto and D.C.)

                Ms. Ikeda shared the eligibility standards, admission procedure and scholarship criteria to get enrolled in any of the above-mentioned programs.

                Overall, the session proved to be very informative and helpful for the students, who are looking forward to undertake higher studies in Japan.

                  The District level competition based on ‘School road safety Awareness campaign’ was held at Universal Public School between 15th and 17th November 18.

                  The schools of North-East zone participated in the competition. . The competition was categorized into two groups-Middle and Senior. The students of Arwachin International School participated in different activities like painting, essay writing and quiz. Muskan Dhama, Gaurang Bhatt, Aliza Hashmi and Harshit Jain participated in the painting competition. Devansh Pratap Singh, Sambhav Rawat, Himanshu Jain and Nandika Sanoria participated in the quiz competition. Shefalika Ghosh,Shohini Pathak, Prachi Garg and Tiasha Roy participated in the essay competition.

                   Arwachins bagged a lot of laurels for the school.

                    Visit To Nehru Planetarium

                     Space has always fascinated mankind. Space has always been  an unsolved mystery.We have always wanted to explore  the night sky  to understand its complexities.

                    To know more about  the space 15 students  along with two teachers (Mrs Sunita Suri & Mrs Hina Dhyani)  of Arwachin  International school attended a workshop and quiz on Astronomy at  Nehru Planetarium, Delhi in collaboration with Harper Collins Publishers on 16th Nov 2018.

                    Workshop was interspersed with explanations and interactivities for students followed by the quiz on stars and constellations . Students also view the projected image of the sun through a telescope. The highlight of the visit was an hour long show at the Sky Theatre which inspired the curiosity and aptitude for science  in students.

                    Overall it turned out to be a joyful & enriching experience for all.

                      On 3rd November, 2018 The Japanese teacher Mrs. Kaur attended a workshop on GUNDOKU activity at The Japan Foundation, New Delhi. It was conducted by Ms. Yuiko Wakana (Japanese language advisor).

                      The objective of this workshop was to guide teachers about GUNDOKU (An activity to recite poem or stories in a group).

                      The teachers were oriented about the various ways to conduct this activity and were also trained to inculcate the same in  their curriculum. The different types of games were conducted on how to make the learning more interesting.

                      It was an amazing learning experience.
