The Meet began with Mr. Chawla informing students about different career options available to them according to the different streams that they have opted for, be it Science , Humanities or Commerce. He also informed about the different colleges that are offering good courses and the percentages needed to study there. In his entire talk with the children he consistently encourged them to do research, to not just be stuck with ‘Delhi University’, but also explore the other states of India that are offering good courses in good colleges and universities. Mr. Chawla also talked about the golden opportunities that studying abroad offers to the students.

The following next hour was taken by the teachers of T.I.M.E who enlightened the students how to crack the different aspects of an entrance exam- logical, verbal or mathematical. They taught the children tricks and hacks to attempt a question even if they have absolutely no idea what the question even mean.

The final part of the session was the Q&A round where Mr. Jitin Chawla opened the floor for the audience to clarify their doubts.

It was indeed an amazing opportunity for the children and a very fruitful seminar.

A Visit to S Chand Publishing House

The students of class VIII of Arwachin International School visited S Chand Publishing House on 2nd and 3rd August, 2018. S Chand group is one of the oldest and largest publishing houses of India.

The students reached there at around 10 am. Firstly they had a session with the mentors present there. They explained the entire process of bookmaking- beginning from the subject finalization and preparing of manuscripts, editor’s review, proof reading, design and layout of the book, content finalization, printing, binding, cutting finally to packaging. They have divided this entire process in three phases- pre press, press and post press. The students also toured the factory and they were instructed not to touch anything for safety reasons.

After the tour students were provided with refreshments. Many eco friendly gifts like pen, pencils and notebooks were also given to the students. The best thing was Go Green Concept- we know that we need to cut trees for making books, so the stationary that was provided can be used to grow plants after use.

The visit was highly informative and an excellent learning experience for the students.
