‘Bharat Ko Jano’ examination based on questions of General Knowledge about Hindu Mythology, Indian dance forms,freedom fighters, books and author was conducted in Arwachin International School on 31st October, 2018 in which Ishita Garg and Rishabh Sengar of class 11D, Arpita & Harshit Jain of class 8B achieved outstanding results and were selected for the state level Quiz Competition on 17th November, 2018 .

These students made us proud by achieving the first position in the state level competition based on Audio-Visual presentation for which they were awarded with trophies and certificates of excellence.

    Arwachin International School witnessed the celebration of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of our first Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October, 2018.An Assembly was conducted on this special event by the students of class 12-D which included a pledge ceremony, Run for unity and poem recitation.

    The Students also got to know some very interesting facts about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It was a very informative assembly through which the students got the opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.

      An interactive workshop was conducted at Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden on 31st October 2018 for the teachers teaching French in schools and colleges of Delhi-NCR in collaboration with Rachna Sagar Pvt. Ltd. The purpose of the workshop was to hold an interactive session to deal with phonetics in French and guide teachers to take up activities in class to teach oral comprehension. 

      The workshop started with lighting of the lamp by the honourable principal Mrs. Swapna Nair and the distinguished resource person, Dr Kiran Chaudhry, who is a professor at the centre for French and francophone Studies in Jawahar Lal Nehru University. The zealous teachers from more than 40 schools participated in the workshop. The way Dr. Kiran Chaudhry interacted with the teachers and guided them about French phonetics was highly appreciable. The session helped the teachers to get acquainted with the activities that can be taken up in the class to teach oral comprehension to the students. Before concluding the workshop, Rachna Sagar Pvt Ltd gave information about the series of French books titled ‘Enchanté. They also talked about web support and mobile application available for the textbook to help the teachers.

      The most surprising element for the teachers was the competition conducted by Rachna Sagar  Pvt Ltd during the workshop wherein the teachers were supposed to play a French tambola. They were also asked to translate the names and the dialogues of a few Bollywood movies from French to Hindi.

      The workshop ended with the vote of thanks and distribution of the certificates. Overall, the workshop was very effective and communicative. It was an enriching experience for the teachers.

        Anti Tobacco Workshop

        An ‘Anti Tobacco’ workshop was conducted at Arwachin International School on 29th Octerber, 2018 by Digilooks Healthcare. The workshop was attended by the students of classes VIII to XII. It aimed at raising awareness about the serious toll that tobacco use takes on one’s health.

        The resource person was Dr. R.K Chaudhary from Metro Hospital. He apprised the students of the serious health issues raised by consuming tobacco. He informed that consuming tobacco not only affects our health but also affect our entire body. People who smoke are at higher risk for chronic non reversible lung conditions such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer.

        The session was very informative. It contributed in the well being of the students. It would help the students in raising awareness in their families as well.

          ‘The first rule of courtesy is to have a good handwriting’

          It has invariably been observed that a person with good handwriting has a better thought process. Good handwriting has several benefits like; it improves writing skill, boosts confidence and also helps in personality development. A perfect handwriting plays an important role in impressing anyone who reads something written by us. International Handwriting Olympiad was conducted in our school on 24th October’18  to appreciate the students with good handwriting and give them a  chance to  prove themselves and win a prize. One hundred and ninety one students participated in the Olympiad conducted by International Handwriting Olympiad Organization, Pune. Congratulations to our School Level Winners:

            INTER HOUSE MATHS QUIZ COMPETITION

            INTER HOUSE MATHS QUIZ COMPETITION

            A Maths Inter House Quiz Competition was organized on 19th November 2018 for 6th to 10th standard. One student from each standard was selected for all the four houses. There were 3 rounds. The first round was Calculation Round, to test the ability of the students to solve mathematical expressions. The second round was Visual Round which was a buzzer round in which the students were shown one image and they had to answer a question based on the image. The participant who pressed the buzzer first was given the chance to answer. The third and final round was the Rapid Fire Round in which the students had to answer maximum number of questions in 1 minute. It was quite a close competition.

            The Quiz helped the students in enhancing their analytical thinking. Shastri House won the competition with 280 points. Tagore House bagged the 2nd position with 260 points. Tilak and Bose House stood 3rd and 4th with 250 and 235 points respectively. The audience cheered wholeheartedly for their houses.

              “Every day the sun rises to give us a message that darkness will always be beaten by light and light is good from whatever lamp it shines.”

              To emphasize the significance on celebrating festivals, a special assembly on Dussehra, the festival that resonates the conquest of good over evil was presented by the students of Arwachin International School on October 16th, 2018.

              The assembly commenced with an invocation followed by a heartwarming rendition of a fabulous tale of exile, struggle, loss and redemption of Lord Rama. It was followed by an invigorating speech explaining the significance of the festival followed by a sonorous choir who sang bhajan on ‘Hey Ram’. A rhythmic poem ‘A Time to Rejoice: Dussehra” was also recited by the children which gave a vivid description of the festival. The assembly proceeded with the singing of Ramayana’s verses. The melodious tunes were also played on the instruments on ‘Ram ji ki nikli sawari’, leaving the audience spell bound. Children also rhythmically tapped their feet to the tunes of ‘Shri Ram Stuti’ and invoked the blessings of Lord Rama.

              The little munchkins also burnt the slips on which they wrote their bad habits along with the effigy of Ravana. They also experienced all about our rich Indian culture and values.

              The school Principal, Mrs Nair and Director, Mr. Sharma appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers and emphasized that this day is considered not only the victory of good over evil but inculcating the values of goodness in oneself.

                The pre-primary students of Arwachin celebrated Dusshera with lots of zeal and excitement on 16.10.18 .The Hon. Principal, Mrs. Nair  announced the opening of the celebration with lighting of the lamp. The programme began with the enchanting a song  by the tiny tots of L.K.G “Hey Ram….”

                After that the UKG children recited a ‘Dussehra rhyme’ .A dance drama was presented by the little Arwachinians depicting the major scenes from Ramayana showing the Victory of good over evil. Then there was a song presented by the UKG children “Duniya chale na…”. Last but not the least a dandiya was presented by the LKG children.  In the end, the Respected Principal Mrs. Nair appreciated and encouraged the children and the teachers for all their efforts put in. The assembly was called off after the national anthem. Later on, the children enjoyed the sight of ‘Effigy of Ravana’ being burnt.

                    Navratri marks the beginning of the festive season which culminates the celebration of Dusshera. At Arwachin International School it has always been an endeavour to celebrate LIFE !

                    Keeping this essence alive, a DANDIYA night was organized for the staff. The evening witnessed the staff members all dressed according to the pre-decided dress code- Ethnic Wear. Each and every person present there displayed their love for dance and proved that-

                    ‘ Dancing with the feet is one thing, dancing with heart is another.’

                    There was fun, food, fellowship and entertainment all around. A beautiful evening that left a mark on our hearts!

                      With the aim of honing the dance skills of the students, an Inter House Dance Competition was organized on 10th October’2018 .The event commenced with the singing of prayer by the students. The judges: Mrs. Swapna Nair, Mrs. Rohatgi and Mr. Sagar were welcomed with a huge round of applause.

                      Through dance, our children learn to work in a group and in perfect coordination. Arwachinians are real stars who shine on the stage when they start dancing. To give a perfect platform to the young learners to perform, an inter house dance competition is organised every year. The students of classes 6 -12 participated in the competition. There were three rounds: Solo, Trio and Group. The competition commenced with the solo performances that showcased classical Fusion dances, followed by Trio round showcasing freestyle dance and group dancers performing Folk Dances. All the four houses performed to the best of their abilities. The participants captured the attention of the audience. The audience as well the panel of judges: Mrs.Swapna Nair, Mrs.Rohatgi and Mr.Sagar were fully engrossed in the programme. The result of the Competition is as follows:

                        Bharat Vikaas Parishad organised the Guruvandan programme on 10th October, 2018 at Arwachin International School.They were welcomed by our respected Principal Mrs. Swapna Nair.The members of the BVP Mr. Pradhumn and Mr. Subodh spoke about the importance of values in a student’s life and inspired them by giving examples from great people’s lives proving that hardwork is the only way to achieve success in life.

                        The members then felicitated the school principal, teachers and students for their extraordinary performance in class 10 Board Exams of 2018.

                          “Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light”.

                            Keeping these beautiful words in mind, a Book Week was organized at Arwachin International School by Dolphin Publishers from 4th to 6th October 2018. Book Week is a celebration of reading for pleasure that has been running for the past many years in our School. Our aim is to encourage our students to view reading as a source of pleasure, explore library and bookshops and even start writing themselves.

                          There were various books of different categories like Encyclopedia, Art and Craft, Fiction, Academics, and General Knowledge etc. The students enjoyed browsing the books in the book fair.The pre-primary students also enjoyed a magic show by a famous magician Mr Shahbaz during the book week. The book week was encouraging and  informative for the  children and  was enjoyed by all of us.

                            Hindi Diwas was celebrated in “Arwachin International School” with much fanfare on 14th September, 2018.Children participated in many activities such as slogan writing, advertisement writing,poem and story writing .The tiny tots were dressed up for the  fancy dress competition where they introduced themselves in Hindi, describing the theme.The prize distribution programme was held on 3rd October, 2018.

                                   The winners and the participants were encouraged by the Principal, teachers and representatives from Rachna Sagar Publications who also gave prizes and certificates to the winners and all the participants.The Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Sharma was from Rachna Sagar Publications.

                            All the teachers from the Hindi Department collectively trained and motivated the students for the activities which is a trademark of Arwachin International School.

                              The Arwachinians take the roads that lead to success passing through the boulevard of hardwork. 1st October, 2018 was an auspicious day for Arwachin International School as two very vital events were held on this day.

                               Felicitation ceremony was organized for the toppers of classes X & XII, who have scored above 90%. Each student was awarded with a memento. This was followed by the investiture ceremony. Prof.G.K. Varshney, an eminent educationist, was invited as the chief guest who along with the Principal, Mrs Swapna Nair and the Director, Mr. Arun Sharma, felicitated the students. The teachers stood with their eyes twinkling with great pride as they watched their students being felicitated and the message was clear at that moment that hard work never goes unrewarded.

                              The new faces of the student council, who would lead the students of the school, came up. Ashish Singh and Sanskriti of class XII are entitled the Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. Samriddhi Jain and Aditya Bhatt have been selected to be the Vice Head girl and the Vice Head Boy respectively. Kritika Thakur of class XII and Lakshay Aggarwal of class XI have been chosen as the Cultural Secretary of the school. The Sports Captains are Parinita Sharma and Honey Singh of class XII. Four House Captains and four Vice House Captains have also been selected from class XII and class XI respectively. Rati Chandna (Class XII) and Ishita Garg (Class XI) have been selected as the student editors. 20 students from class XI, namely, Shreet Aggarwal, Divya Chauhan, Shruti Porav, Pragati Tiwari, Gungun, Charu Bansal, Atharva Shreyanshu, Vashu Atrey, Dushyant , Tanishka, Naman Singh, Aparna Saxena, Padmanabh Tiwari, Tanushree Vishnoi, Naman Arora, Abhinav Dagar, Yash Maheshwari, Harsh Dang, Aditi Yadav  have been made the discipline-in-charge. The students were honoured with a badge and a sash. It was a propitious moment as the leaders of tomorrow stood up to take their place and read a sacrament to serve the school with honesty and devotion.

                              The event ended with a word of advice by the seniors and motivational words by the Chief Guest and our Principal, Mrs. Swapna Nair
