My
Journey from Arwachin International School to the Ritsumeikan University
By Sakshi Gupta , 12A1
Since I started learning Japanese in
grade 2 at my Alma mater, Arwachin International School , I have always dreamt
of building my future in Japan. As a
result, it was my ambition to study Community and Regional Policy Studies at
the Ritsumeikan University in Japan.
In order to secure a place at
Ritsumeikan University, I had to go through two screenings. The criteria for
the first screening was to write three essays on three different topics strictly
following the word limit. Since these essays are incisively analyzed,
therefore, I made sure to be honest while writing the essays without
plagiarizing any data from any source.
Apart from this, I put a great emphasis on my language and vocabulary
throughout my essays conveying my views and opinions sincerely on the topic. Due
to this, I was able to clear my first screening successfully.
For the second screening, an interview
was held on Skype by two professors who raised questions based on the essays.
Therefore, I thoroughly revised my essays and overhauled my communication
skills making sure to have an undisputable confidence while answering my essays.
As a result, I successfully cleared my
second screening and got enrolled in the Ritsumeikan University. In addition to
this, I am scheduled to receive the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) for the 2018 University-Recommended
Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship for Overseas International Degree- seeking
students.
I am highly grateful to my parents,
teachers, School management and friends for their incessant support and
encouragement.
Cheers to new beginnings and adventures!
