The workshop proceeded with a short briefing by Mr. Narendra Saini about the need to maintain proper hygiene followed by an informative video which clearly indicated that proper health hygiene can significantly reduce the spread of harmful bacteria and other germs that can lead to harmful infections and diseases. Some students even demonstrated the process of hand washing with soap. Students also participated in a Poster Making Competition on the same theme and the winners were rewarded with prizes.

The students also participated very enthusiastically in the questionnaire session and expressed their willingness to participate in more such informative and enlightening workshops which helps in promoting a healthy life.

                                          World handwash day celebration

Handwashing is a great Montessori practical life lesson with steps that can improve the child’s order, concentration, coordination, and independence. Handwashing is a significant habit that should be inculcated right from childhood as children are the most energetic, enthusiastic and are open to ideas and change. They can take lessons they have learned at school back home to teach their parents, siblings and elders.

With an objective to educate pre- primary (LKG, UKG) kids about handwashing, The Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden celebrated the Global Handwashing Day. On  15-10-2019 The students learnt about proper steps that need to be followed for handwashing and things that are needed such as handwash /soap, towel ,water. They were also explained the importance of handwashing through various slogans such as’Cleanliness is next to godliness’ , ‘clean hands keeps germs away’.On the  whole the kids enjoyed the activity and understood the importance of handwashing.
