GURUTSAV , 2014
The ministry
of Human Resource Development, Government of India, announced an essay
writing competition and invited entries from the students to share inspiring
stories about their teachers who play a pivotal role in shaping and moulding
their lives and enable them to develop as citizen of the 21st century.
In order to appreciate
and acknowledge the work of teachers, MHRD announced “Gurutsav, 2014”
to celebrate 5th September, the day when one of the greatest
teachers, Dr. Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan , was born.
The activity was
conducted in offline and online mode. The selected Arwachinians from Classes 1
to 12 participated in the competition. The topics were:
Classes1 –
5 The day my teacher gave me a good
remark
Classes 6 –
8 The year I got a wonderful teacher
Classes 9 –
12 My friend told me about this teacher who was a
change agent
In
his/her life OR
I
was a changed person after the intervention of this teacher
OR I
can never forget this particular teacher because…………….
The word limit for
classes 1-5 was 200 words, classes 6 – 8 was 500 words and
Classes 9 – 12 was
1000 words.
It was not merely a
competitive activity but it also provided a platform to enable the entire
nation to pay rich tribute to the teaching community.
