Institut Français en Inde, Embassy of France in India, organised a weeklong training programme in India for French language professionals, in collaboration with France’s Centre for International Cooperation in Education (CIEP) and the School of Foreign Languages of Amity University - Noida. 

The intensive summer course was conducted by CIEP’s internationally recognised BELC (regional university summer and winter schools) in which the teacher of Arwachin had a chance to participate.

As French is among the most popular foreign languages students opt for in India, there is a growing demand for training a greater number of teachers. Thus, this year’s training benefited 125 French language teachers from a wide gamut of institutions, including secondary and senior secondary schools as well as universities from India and other South-Asian countries. Its course content was tailored to the region-specific requirements of the participating countries.

The opening ceremony took place on Monday, 23rd May 2016 at the Convention Centre, Amity University by dignitaries. M. Bertrand de Hartingh , Director of IFI ( French Insititute of India) , M. Daniel Assouline , Director of CIEP ( International Centre of Pedagogical Studies) , Prof. (Dr. ) Balvinder Shukla Vice Chancelor of Amity University.

The modules chosen by the teacher of Arwachin International were:

Understand and animate the collaborative and motivating activities in a foreign language class from written documents.  (15 hours)

Teach French as a foreign language from literature text for beginners and intermediate children. (15 hours)

The closing ceremony took place on Friday , 27th May 2016 at the Convention Centre, Amity University where the certificates were distributed to the participants.

    Our Rocking Robotiers

    A competition was organized by NeoRobs in Sapphire International School on 14/5/2016. Himaghn Gupta (IV-A), Nikhil Kumar (IV-C),Kabir Bhutani (III-A), Khushal Sharma (III-B), Mayank  Tomar (II-A)  and Ansh Bansal (I-B) represented our school.  More than 15 schools participated in the competition. Two groups from our school participated in the competition. First group was for classes 1st and 2nd and Second group was for classes 3rd and 4th. The competition consisted of two parts:

    a.     An educational robotics game involving EVS and MATHS.

    b.     Presentation on any topic with emphasis on Hands on Learning

    Mrs. Neeraj Sharma and Ms. Neha Sachdeva guided them and went along with the children to boost their confidence. Although all the participants put their best foot forward but Ansh Bansal( I – B) and Mayank  Tomar ( II - A) were awarded as first runner ups. Congratulations to the achievers.

      Our students Tanisha Bhikan 7-A, Piyanshi Singhal 7-A, Ishika Ahuja 7-A , Deepal Yadav 8-D, Sowmya Choudhary 8-D and Shruti Kishore 8-D along with Mrs. Vnadana Jain and Mrs.Kanika Tiwari attended an overnight camp organised by the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCVs) from JICA at  Delhi Public School Greater Noida on the 6th and 7th of May, 2016.

      The objective of the camp was to increase the interest levels of the students, in Japanese language, to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and to exchange ideas with students and teachers from different schools.

       

      The Activities conducted were:

      Quiz on Japan, Japanese toy making, Japanese noodle making, Kimono trying, Calligraphy, Japanese folktale, Japanese Movie, Rajio Taisou (Morning exercise), Rice ball making.

      There were 9 schools from Delhi NCR and more than 60 students who participated in the programme. It was a great opportunity for our students to learn and experience the Japanese culture. They returned happy and content. They were highly motivated and were excited to share their experiences with their classmates.

      The camp was a great success and we wish to participate in such programmes in future too.

        A team of 22 Arwachinians along with their Japanese language teacher, Mrs. Jain participated in the celebration of KODOMO NO HI festival on 5thMay 2016 . It is organized by the Japan Foundation, New Delhi in its premises.It is a festival of celebrating happiness of children & showing gratitude to their parents as well. 

        The 2 Hour program was the amalgamation of short screening, exhibition & activities . 

        The event began with a short screening of the popular Japanese anime, Naruto. The resource person introduced the concept of learning Japanese language through it. The students participated enthusiastically in the interactive session after the screening. 

        Apart from that the students visited the exhibition also. The Japanese cuisine and the toys were displayed in the exhibition. The students were immensely excited about the Japanese food. They got a chance to play with the Japanese toys as well. 

        It was a wonderful experience for the students to explore and deepen their understanding of Japanese language, culture and traditions.
