Annual Day Report
“In a
child's eyes, a mother is a goddess. She can be glorious or terrible,
benevolent or filled with wrath, but she commands love either way. I am
convinced that this is the greatest power in the universe.”
N.K. Jemisin, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms
The
primary wing of The Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, celebrated its
Annual Day on 4TH March 2016, Friday, with much fervor and joy. ‘Mother’
was the title of the special day, to show respect and express gratitude towards
all the mothers. Their unconditional love, support and the feeling of a
security blanket around us is unmatched.
The
occasion was graced by Mrs. Sangeeta Gupta, who is closely associated with Ekal
Vidayalaya Abhiyan, Param Shakti Peeth and many other social organizations.
Mrs. Monika Kapoor, Joint Director of CBSE, was also welcomed as our chief
guest. Respected Mr. Arun Sharma, our director and our beloved Principal, Mrs.
Gracy Peter also honoured us with their presence.
The students
put up a great show, expressing their love for their mothers. The event began
with Saraswati Vandana and a Devi dance to honour our goddesses, for we at
Arwachin International, strongly believe that every good deed should begin with
praising the Almighty.
Our
dedicated children tried to cover different facets of motherhood through their
program; from Mother tongue to Motherland to even Bollywood mothers! The choir
sang Hindi and English songs serenading our mothers through their melody. A
play “Mom Goggles” was staged, that tickled the funny bone of everyone present.
Teachers were also honoured as they are our secondary mothers.
Mrs.
Gupta highlighted the importance of a mother in our lives in her speech. Mrs. Kapoor
reiterated the same fact through a very impactful narrative. Mr. Sharma, our
Director, enlightened the audience with his words of wisdom. He stressed upon
the fact, that both father and mother play an important role in the shaping of
a child’s character. Mrs. Peter proposed a vote of thanks to all present and
appreciated the hard work done by the students and the teachers.
The
program was concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. It was a program
that was designed to touch the hearts of many and left each and every one of us
in a very emotional state.
